Gracie tests the patience of a driver's license examiner. Meanwhile, George's friends lavish him with praise and gifts after learning he's writing an autobiography

After reading Blanche's fortune, Gracie concludes Blanche is in love with a man she encountered at the grocery store. Gracie attempts to intervene, dragging Harry Von Zell's name through the mud in the process.

George tries to get out of attending a concert by getting Gracie involved with a jigsaw puzzle.

George gets irritated when Gracie mishandles a telephone call. She remembers the message, but not the caller's last name or phone number.

Harry Morton's college alumni association is having a banquet, and Harry has promised them he can get George to act as Master of Ceremonies. This circumstance plus Gracie's offbeat logic lead to much confusion, including Gracie confusing the staid members of the Dartmouth Club.

Gracie overhears Bob Cummings reciting dialogue for his TV show and concludes that she is the object of his affections.

George decides to invite his mother-in-law for a brief stay, but a misheard conversation at the post office leads Harry Von Zell to spread word that the forthcoming visit has caused an enormous fight between George and Gracie.

An impressionist impersonates the grocery delivery boy and wows Gracie and her friends, but when George contacts the real delivery boy to offer him a job on the show, he's baffled by the kid's lack of talent.
33. Gracie & George Try for a Day at the Beach
George has an important business meeting at the beach, but Gracie thinks it's a pleasure trip and invites their friends to tag along. Unfortunately, each time they're prepared to leave, some interruption detains them.

An unsuccessful uranium prospecting expedition by the two Harrys sets the stage for a showdown between them and George over partnerships in non-existent mines.
35. Blanche and Brother Roger Move in with the Burnses
When Blanche's brother shows up unexpectedly, it causes such a rift between Blanche and Harry that she decides to leave him. Blanche and Roger take up residence at the Burns' home, so George rooms with Harry, fearing his own divorce.
