Season 1 Episodes
1. Leopards in Namibia
Ray Mears applies his expertise in bushcraft to tracking down some of the world's deadliest predators, in the first of three new films for ITV's flagship wildlife series. In this programme, he is in Namibia's scorching central highland plains on the trail of the reclusive leopard. He joins forces with the pioneering Global Leopard Project, which aims to promote understanding about these majestic creatures, and attempts to snare a dominant local male with the project's help. But will he succeed?
2. Bears in the British Columbia
Ray Mears applies his expertise in bushcraft to track down some of the world's deadliest predators. He goes on the trail of the extremely rare white spirit bear along Canada's beautiful Northwest Pacific coast. Starting his search in the remote Mussel Inlet, he encounters grizzly bears feeding on salmon prior to hibernation. Realising that aggressive grizzly bears guard the best feeding spots, he moves to a smaller inlet where he believes evidence of black bears - which share a similar habitat to the spirit bear - will lead him to his quarry.
3. Wolves in Central Idaho
Bushcraftsman Ray Mears follows some of the world's most dangerous and beautiful wildlife. In this episode, he visits the magnificent Sawtooth mountain region of Central Idaho, which is a prime habitat for the notoriously secretive wolf. Ray tracks a large pack of these incredible predators, but he has only ten days before wolves are taken off the state's endangered species list and become prey to be hunted by humans.
