A month before the accident, defense lawyers Fang Qi-liang and Ching Cho-ning take on a new client: a young woman accused of murdering her boss.

Qi-liang is on his way to court with an important witness when the accident occurs. In the aftermath of the event, Qi-liang loses confidence.

Believing in Yi-xin's innocence, her sister vows to overturn the verdict. Unable to forgive her father, Cho-ning joins Xin-mei's new law firm.

A charismatic pianist who forms a mission group and recruits his members through music is accused of deception. Qi-liang agrees to talk to Yi-xin.

While working separately on Joda's case, Cho-ning and Qi-liang learn that Joda and Jian-ming share a complicated past.

Cho-ning urges Qi-liang to persuade his client to accept the offered terms and close the case. But Qi-liang wants to expose Joda's true colors.

Actress Qi-qi comes to Xin-mei's firm for help terminating her contract with her manager so she can sign with an ambitious young businessman.

Sheng-hua brings his idol, Ke-xuan, into the office to talk to Qi-liang, who learns that the starlet was the first artist to sign with Bobby's agency.

After a near-collision during an outing with Cho-ning, Qi-liang is reminded of the accident he survived a year ago and decides to re-investigate.

After retracing Bao-fa's steps, Cho-ning suspects someone used Bao-fa's truck to plan the accident and asks Sheng-hua to find the driver.

While Qi-liang and Cho-ning grapple with the tragic aftermath of the assault, Sheng-hua regrets going after the attacker.

Elderly Zu-yun seeks help in drafting a will to hand his property over to his maid. But the man's son claims the house belongs to him.

Hui-wu offers to give Zu-yun a portion of the proceeds after the house sells. But an angry Zu-yun insists on a court trial.

Qi-liang forces Cho-ning to go the hospital, where she receives devastating news -- but Qi-liang vows to stay by her side. Zu-yun's troubles mount.

Cho-ning finally tracks down her mother at a nursing home, but Yi-rou doesn't recognize her. Cho-ning accuses Xin-mei of lying to her.

Gao-feng reunites with Yi-rou, and Cho-ning decides to forgive him. Belinda takes the stand in court, but her testimony leaves everyone stunned.

Yi-xin's acquittal coincides with the release of Belinda's daughter, leading Cho-ning to deduce that the two events are somehow related.

Yi-xin is determined to start anew and, with Da-lun's help, finds a job after her release. But jealousy prompts her to plot against her sister.

A vengeful Yi-xin puts a sinister plan into motion with help from Sheng-hua. Elsewhere, Qi-liang and the others rush Cho-ning to the hospital.
