Season 16 Plot
The sixteenth season panel of judges again features series creator Nigel Lythgoe, as well as the return of ballroom dance champion and expert Mary Murphy. New to the panel are choreographer Laurieann Gibson and B-boy dancer/choreographer Dominic "D-Trix" Sandoval, who serve as the third and fourth judges during auditions and live shows. Cat Deeley continues in her role as host for a fifteenth consecutive season.

The top 10 women are each partnered with a man and perform a choreographed duet.
9. Final Cut - The Top Ten Guys
The men take the stage with all-star partners for a choreographed duet.
10. Top 10 Perform
The finalists perform in the hope of impressing the judges and America.
11. Top 10 Perform, Round 2
After the top 10 compete for the nation's votes, two dancers head home.
12. Top 8 Perform

13. Top 6 Perform
Two dancers are eliminated from the top six.
14. Top 4 Perform
With only the best of the best remaining in the competition, the dancers show America why they belong in the Top Four.

Contestants compete in various dance styles to secure their place in the "So You Think You Can Dance" studio and to become America's best dancer.
