1. Austria (Vienna - Achensee)

The journey starts in Vienna, the cultural stronghold of Johan Strauss. More culture can be found in St. Polten and Innsbruck. Then we arrive in the pilgrimage site of Mariazell. The Zillertalbahn and the Achenseebahn take us to the heart of Tyrol.

2. South Africa

From Cape Town we travel to Pretoria by luxury steam train. We enjoy the beautiful South African environment and go back in time to the diamond mining at Kimberley. Naturally we make a real safari trip during this trip.

3. New Zealand

This episode takes us on a journey through the southern islands of New Zealand, where we visit the modern cities of Greymouth, Christchurch and Queenstown. We will experience what happened in the colonial past and the gold rush.

4. Germany

A journey through the former East German state of Saxony, rich in nature, history and castles. We visit Dresden, Florance on the Elbe, the medieval Zittau and the high-altitude winter sports resort of Oberwiesental.

5. Austria

We start the journey in romantic Salzburg, the city of Mozart. In addition, we also visit Linz, the trading city on the Danube. Historical narrow gauge railways lead us to the Trimmelkam and Ampflwang. Via Gmünd we travel further under steam and pass the 'Waldviertel' a stone's throw from the Czech Republic.

6. Portugal

From Porto, a lively city with a rich history, we travel to the Douro valley, known throughout the world for its port. The steam train takes us on a tourist trip along the Douro and we discover the most beautiful places in this wine region.

7. Switzerland

Two regional rail lines run from Martigny in southwestern Switzerland to France and Italy. This episode once again shows the most beautiful train country in the world from a fascinating perspective, with beautiful images in a winter landscape.

8. Italy

A train line runs from Genoa to La Spezia, where kilometers of tunnels are interspersed by beautiful villages and regions - such as the Cinque Terre - and the whole gives a beautiful picture of the Italian coast.

9. France

From Grenoble a train trip to Veynes over impressive viaducts along the Vercors. From there along the lake of Serre Ponçon and the Durance to Briançon. This route will introduce you to France in a beautiful way.

This legendary journey of more than 1,900 kilometers starts in Beijing, the capital of China. It takes us all the way to Mongolia and back to our starting point. For the first time, the Chinese Orient Express will pass the Jingpeng Pass under steam.
