Season 18 Plot
Season 18 sees 16 new designers ready to wow host Karlie Kloss, mentor Christian Siriano, and judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth with their jaw-dropping fashions. This season brings back some elements of the competition that fans know and love, including the “Siriano Save,” which gives Christian the opportunity to bring one eliminated designer back into the competition, and the chance to present a final collection at New York Fashion Week.

Season 18 Episodes
1. Blast Off
With luggage still in tow, 16 new designers are greeted at the iconic TWA Hotel at JFK airport. Paired off, they receive their first assignment: to create innovative jumpsuit and cocktail looks inspired by humanity's continued push into space exploration. They have $400 per team and two days to complete the challenge.
2. Cats Of the Urban Jungle
The designers must create a chic street style look using animal prints while taking inspiration from the upcoming film "Cats." They have $250 and two days to complete the challenge.
3. Sleigh the Runway
The designers are tasked to create a party cocktail dress using winter holiday decorations. They have two days to complete the challenge.
4. The Ultimate Upcycle
The designers must create a look for Karlie Kloss to wear to a Parisian event made of fabrics upcycled from garments found at Goodwill. They have $150 and one day to complete the challenge.
5. She's Sew Unusual
Split into two teams, the designers must create cohesive mini-collections that pay homage to Cyndi Lauper and her iconic fashion style, including their own accessories. They have $300 per team member for fabric, $200 per team for accessory materials, and two days to complete the challenge.
6. There Is Only One You
The designers are asked to create any look of their choosing using their own personal heritage as inspiration. They have $300 and one day to complete the challenge.
7. Project Runway X Ashley Longshore
The designers must create a look in collaboration with artist Ashley Longshore, using her custom pop art prints as both inspiration and fabric. They have $175 and two days to complete the challenge.
8. Sheer Genius
The designers are tasked to create an editorial look using sheer fabrics. They have $300 and one day to complete the challenge.
9. Suit Yourself
The designers must create a look that reinvents the classic tuxedo in a modern way. They have $600 and two days to complete the challenge.
10. Live and Let Tie Dye
The designers are asked to elevate tie-dye into a runway-chic look using fabric they create. They have $175 and one full day to complete the challenge.
11. Olympic Game Plan
For this challenge, the designers are paired up with an athlete competing in the Summer 2020 Olympic or Paralympic Games and they must make them their dream outfit for a victory night celebration. They have $400 and one day to complete their garments.
12. The Height Of Avant Garde Fashion
The designers must create an avant-garde look that is anything but ordinary for a showing at one of New York City's newest landmarks, The Vessel. They have $600 and two days to complete the challenge.
13. Finale: Part 1
Each of the remaining designers is given five months and $10,000 to design a 10-piece collection for Fashion Week. In the interim, each gets a special visit in their hometown from Christian Siriano. Back in New York, they must choose three of their looks to show as part of a mini-collection in order to secure their spot in the final runway show.
14. Finale: Part 2
In the conclusion of the finale, the remaining contestants ready their collections for the runway. They are given an additional $400 to spend at Mood to finish their looks. Then they present their lines to industry insiders at Fashion Week.
