Naval Frogmen Corps Season 1

Over the course of an entire year, DR was granted access to life at the Frogman Corps’ base in Kongsøre. We follow the recruits in their fight to endure the grueling training that will prepare them to become some of Denmark’s most elite soldiers. And we accompany the Frogmen as they are sent on special operations worldwide. In the first episode, we join the Frogmen on Bornholm, where they embark on a live-ammunition training exercise. We also follow a new group of candidates through the brutal selection process for the Frogman Corps.

In the second episode, we get an up-close look as the Frogman Corps undertakes a live mission in the Gulf of Aden near Somalia. Meanwhile, back in Denmark, a new group of recruits has started basic training at the Royal Danish Navy’s school. For some of them, it’s their first time holding a weapon. Over the course of an entire year, DR was granted access to follow the Frogman Corps. We follow the recruits in their struggle to endure the demanding training that will turn them into some of Denmark’s best-trained soldiers. And we follow the Frogmen as they take on special operations worldwide.

In the third episode, we meet the Frogman Corps’ Alpha and Bravo patrols as they train in parachuting in Florida. Back in Denmark, the recruits arrive at the base in Kongsøre. The intense training begins, and the recruits face the harsh realities of their ambition to join the Frogman Corps. At this stage, several recruits drop out. Over the course of an entire year, DR was granted access to follow the Frogman Corps. We follow the recruits in their struggle to endure the rigorous training that will make them some of Denmark’s best-trained soldiers. And we follow the Frogmen as they are deployed in special operations around the world.

In the fourth episode, we travel to Syria, where Frogmen, under the command of platoon leader “Tot,” are tasked with extracting chemical weapons from Assad’s regime. Back at the Kongsøre base, the recruits face the beginning of Patrol Week 1—“Hell Week.” This is an examination of the first weeks of training, a grueling test designed to push them to their limits and uncover whether they have the determination to see it through. Over the course of an entire year, DR was granted access to follow the Frogman Corps. We follow the recruits in their battle to endure the relentless training that will make them some of Denmark’s most elite soldiers. And we follow the Frogmen as they are deployed in special operations worldwide.

In this episode, the Frogmen participate in a specialized exercise on an oil platform 250 km out in the North Sea. The recruits finish “Hell Week,” and two more are eliminated. We follow the remaining recruits as they fight toward their goal: after eight months of grueling training, earning the right to call themselves Frogmen. We’ve reached the final episode in the series about the Frogman Corps. Over the course of an entire year, DR was granted exclusive access to the Corps.
