Chika Takami is an ordinary girl who wants to form a School Idol Club to be a school idol. She meets potential members, but how will she get them to join?

On her mission to form a School Idol Club, Chika Takami searches for more members and someone who can help compose their songs.

We meet Mari Ohara, who makes a deal with Chika and the others. If they can fill the school gym during their first performance, she'll approve their club despite their numbers. Will they be able to gather enough people?

Chika wants the first years Hanamaru and Ruby to join the School Idol Club, but they are both hesitant. We learn about the two and what their true feelings are toward school idols.

Yoshiko is trying to suppress her alter ego, Yohane, but it's harder than expected. She then comes across the School Idol Club whose members are trying to raise their ranking.

After finding out their school is at risk of closing due to low enrollment, the girls of Aqours decide to take action and find a way to promote the town and the school they love.

Aqours promo video is a huge success. The girls are invited to a School Idol competition in Tokyo, and make the trip to the big city.

The girls get the results from their first big performance, and are forced to make some difficult decisions.

Chika and the others discover the secrets that led to the seniors' school idol group breakup.

The girls start their summer training camp, and whip up some tasty (and not so tasty) treats to help out at the town's beach snack bar.

Riko heads to Tokyo for her piano competition, while You faces some struggles trying to fill in for her.

The results for the preliminary qualifiers are announced, and Aqours takes another trip to learn more about their own idols.

Aqours gets ready for the regional preliminaries with some help from their friends.
