1. San Sebastian
James' adventure begins in San Sebastian - a city with 16 Michelin stars - as he experiences pintxos, tries whole-grilled turbot, and samples local cider.
2. La Rioja
James visits Spain's wine region of La Rioja and a mile-long cellar, eats tapas in the region's capital of Longrono, and explores a Michelin-starred restaurant.
3. Bilbao
James visits an indoor food market in Bilbao, takes a funicular to a famous steak restaurant, heads to a winery on a seabed and learns how La Carolina is made.
4. Asturias
James meets an off-grid family in Asturias, samples fabada stew and Urbies cheese, visits a restaurant famous for its sardines and cooks a steak sandwich.
5. Santiago de Compostela
James visits Santiago de Compostela to meet pilgrims, explore its market, try lampreys, sample a Tarta de Santiago and take a mussel boat tour.
6. Vigo
James visits Vigo, which is home to the biggest fish market in Europe, to try Galician octopus, see how a traditional Galician loaf is made, and visit a furancho.
7. Castile and León
James is introduced to torrijas in Castile and Leon, is shown how to cook a traditional maragoto, and visits a cattle farm producing amazing steak.
8. Madrid
James tries a calamari sandwich in Madrid, samples garlic prawns, tastes churros, meets a blind food critic, tastes vermouth and cooks chicken in white vermouth.
9. Castilla-La Mancha
James is introduced to carcamusa in Castilla-La Mancha, tries local marzipan, meets an organic honey producer and sees how manchego is made.
10. Extremadura
James is shown how migas is made in Extremadura, meets an award-winning tortilla chef, visits a local brewery, sees Iberico pigs and cooks poussin.
11. Seville
James visits the local food market in Seville and has breakfast at a secret bar, meets rising culinary star Camilla Furraro, and stops by an orange grove.
12. Cadiz
James is shown around Cadiz by Jose Pizarro as they visit its food market and Sherry Triangle, eat by the sea, and explore salt flats before cooking at a villa.
13. Costa del Sol
James is shown how huge paella is made in the Costa del Sol, visits a lost village, drops by a citrus farm and sees how moscatel ice cream is made.
14. Cordoba
James tours Cordoba on an eco tuk tuk as he visits a food market, eats oxtail at a Michelin-starred restaurant, and helps judge a salmorejo competition.
15. Granada
James samples giant tapas in Granada, visits a restaurant with views of the Alhambra, tries pan de Alfacar, goes to an organic caviar farm and cooks steak.
16. Murcia
James shops at the local market in Murcia and eats exceptional tapas, is shown how to make caldero, heads to an apricot farm and introduces us to paparajotes.
17. Costa Blanca
James visits a cherry orchard in the Costa Blanca, meets a fisherman selling Denia shrimp, enjoys a denton fish dish and sees how turron is made.
18. Valencia
James visits a rice farm in Valencia, reminisces at a favourite tapas bar of his, enjoys a fishing trip catching blue fin tuna and introduces us to horchata.
19. Catalonia
James visits the Boqueria market in Catalonia, eats Catalan paella in Sitges, takes a tour of a cava vineyard and sees how honey sweets are made.
20. Girona
James drops by an anchovy producer in Girona, sees how ratafia is made, meets an award-winning chocolatier, visits the Celler de Can Roca and cooks paella.
