1. Cooking the Books
MA YAT MING (Bowie Lam) gangs up with his wife LAM BUI KEI (Kristal Tin), who is the chairman of a publicly listed company, stock analyst WONG HOI (Choi Tsz Kin) and investment fund manager HO LAI MAN (Vivien Yeo) to engage in financial fraud and stock price manipulation. KEI manages to flee from Hong Kong in the midst of ICAC’s investigation but decides to come back upon discovering the affair between MING and MAN. Fearing that KEI will sooner or later turn herself in, MING is planning on killing her. ICAC’s Chief Investigator ANNIE (Jessica Hester Hsuan) and Senior Investigator HENRY (Wong Ho Yin) try to look for clues about KEI’s whereabouts from her father, hoping that they can locate the woman before MING executes his plan…
2. Bogus Householders
FONG CHI CHUEN (Sonija Kwok), ZOE (Yoyo Mung) and RAINY (Halina Tam) have been good friends since they were in high school. CHUEN’s husband TSANG WING KIN (Kwok Ching Hung) has an urgent need for money. To help the couple out of their financial difficulties, RAINY bribes ZOE’s boyfriend LEE CHI LUN (Raymond Cho),who works for the Urban Renewal Authority, to disclose classified information about certain redevelopment projects so that they can purchase in advance the properties scheduled for demolition and receive compensation from the Authority later on. LUN and ZOE have co-habited for seven years and are still short of money to get married. Tempted by promises of high returns, LUN finally agrees to collaborate with RAINY. The two couples start to pursue their fraudulent compensation claims as planned without realizing that ICAC is already spying on them…
3. Calculated Death
CHAN CHUNG MAN (Tang Siu Chuen) takes out a life insurance policy for his younger sister who resides in mainland China, and treats himself as the designated beneficiary. Three months later, he asks for compensation claiming that his sister was killed by lightning and that her body was cremated and buried subsequently. Suspecting that this is a fraudulent claim devised by MAN and broker HO KWOK MING (Cheng Tse Sing), the insurance company refers the case to ICAC. Preliminary investigations reveal that all the supporting documents provided by MAN are real and valid. But Investigator HUI KEI SHAN (Fiona Sit) soon discovers a new clue with her acute powers of observation…
4. Crocodile Consultant
Construction consultant LAM KWONG YIU (Wong Tak Bun) has abused the trust of the owners’ corporation and keeps pressuring KAU (Lam Suet), the contractor, for illegal commissions. Despite their long-term collaboration, KAU feels exploited and cannot put up with YIU any longer. Left with no other option, KAU decides to turn himself in to ICAC. Chief Investigator CARRIE (Maggie Siu) soon mounts a full-scale investigation in an attempt to gather evidence against YIU…
5. Private Car
The contractor provides Senior Inspector of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department MOK YAU KUEN (Mak Cheung Ching) with the free shuttle service for work purposes. Nonetheless, the contractor’s assistant manager WONG HO NAM (Yuen Siu Cheung) constantly drives KUEN and his girlfriends around with the company vehicle and even offers KUEN every sort of luxurious entertainment he can afford. The contractor’s driver cannot endure the grueling workload and finally decides to report to ICAC. Chief Investigator CHEUNG SIR (Andy Hui) immediately sends Senior Investigator CHAN KA MING (Sammul Chan) to follow up the case. With his efforts all through the investigation, MING manages to convince Miss V (Stephanie Cheng), who spends a lot of time hanging out with KUEN, to attend a hearing as a witness…
