1. Zanzibar Market Hunt

February 19th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: Stone Town was the first stop for a jet-lagged Heraldo after more than 3 flights and untold levels of insanity which anyone who wishes to travel these days have to contend with. As soon as I stepped off that last plane though I felt like I'd just arrived in heaven. For in Tanzania life goes on as normal. So normal in fact that buffets are still up and running at the hotels and markets are bustling with life. Naturally then I had to go on a mega shopping spree to see what the local vendors have on offer here in Zanzibar. Traditional masks, paintings by local artists and the usual soccer jerseys dominated the shops. Along the way I ran into some awesome people....

2. $0.85 Gongo Hunt Zanzibar

March 2nd, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: Every country have their own homebrew. In Zanzibar it's known as Gongu. But it's not easy to come by. After spending the better half of the day failing at finding a barber shop to make a haircut video, it suddenly dawned on me that a Gongu hunt would make for more entertaining viewing. Plus, I was kind of thirsty The only problem was that everywhere I'd asked for Gongu previously that day had no idea what I was talking about (partly because I used a different term for it as you can see at the start of the vid; puree). So I needed to enlist a local for some help. Enter Zanzibar's greatest motorbike driver and the man with the coolest and least YouTube friendly name on the whole island....

3. $4 Ghetto Barbershop Zanzibar

March 4th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: Having tried, but failed, to give myself the Haputale fade on a number of occasions, I was ecstatic to learn that the barbershop I had just sat down in in Zanzibar told me they knew how to make one. A few minutes in I realized the barber had simply answered yes without knowing what the Haputale fade actually is. Either way this was going to be one intriguing haircut adventure.

4. Faki Party Taxi's Ruthless Bargaining

March 5th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: On the Gongu hunt, we drove past an epic looking local market along a busy road. It was full of life and not a tourist in sight. In other words exactly the type of place that I like to go shopping to see what prices are like outside of tourism central. There was only one problem, Faki Party (yes that's still his name he says although he uses Faking on occasion, ok, I added the Party surname), still doesn't really understand much of what I say in terms of directions. So I simply had to trust that when I said market he knew which one I meant.... well.... one wrong turn later (or a shortcut as he tongue in cheek dubbed it), and all my bargaining solo market hunt plans were out the window......

5. Fake Soccer Jersey Market Zanzibar

March 7th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: With the market I wanted to do my shopping in nowhere in sight, I found myself in a much smaller village looking marketplace with no other shoppers around. I was the only one buying things there which also meant that every vendor had his eyes on my federal reserves! There was really only one item I wanted to purchase though; soccer jerseys. And lots of them! So what does a soccer jersey cost in Zanzibar? Turns out a lot more than you'd expect....

6. Dangerous Ride Zanzibar

March 10th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: All over Stone Town I've seen locals cruising around on classic looking bicycles. Most of these bikes seem to be at least 2-3 decades old. After a couple of days filled with jealousy I decided I also wanted one. But where could I get one? It's not like these classic bicycles are sold in stores anymore. So I went for a walk with Polo School in search of someone willing to sell me theirs. Before we'd reached the area we expected there to be a lot of cyclists at, and before I'd even started filming, I spotted one of these classic bikes locked and parked outside a coffee shop. The owner was an old man who said he'd bought it over 20 years ago for 8000 shilling. He also seemed quite fond of the bike. A few minutes later though, I was the new proud owner of this classic bicycle and the old man had more money in his hand than he'd ever expect to get for his old bike.

7. $850 Luxury Seafront Villa Zanzibar

March 12th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: There are exclusive resorts with dozens of rooms and then there are ultra exclusive luxury ones with just 5! The Island Pongwe Lodge, located on Zanzibar's eastern coastline facing the Indian ocean, falls into the latter category. With 4 standard bungalows and only 1 villa, all ocean front and located on a private island, it doesn't get more exclusive than this. Since most prospective tourists have a greater interest in what hotels look like as opposed to the local street food markets, I decided to get their most expensive villa for a night to revel in oceanfront luxury after my grueling bicycle journey across the island, and show you all how you can enjoy your vacation in luxury on Zanzibar.

8. Exotic Fish Hunt Zanzibar

March 13th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: At 7.30, with the tide just high enough to get The Island Lodge's Zanzibar style sailing canoe up from the sand and out into the ocean, we set out on a fishing expedition. The fish here are incredibly colorful but how easy is to catch any? And can your favorite Northman, after his dismal performance last year out lobster fishing in Sri Lanka, actually sail a canoe without getting seasick?

9. Zanzibar's Greatest Seaweed Farmer

March 14th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: My first day on the beach in Pongwe I learnt two things. First, seaweed has value. Two, you can also farm it! The previous day I'd observed the local villagers not only sit out in the water when the tide was low planting seaweed, but also bringing back baskets of fully grown seaweed to the shore on their heads. Naturally I wanted in on this unique feature of the local economy. This is the story of how I became Zanzibar's greatest seaweed farmer.

10. Zanzibar's Worst Cyclist

March 16th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: After 6 hours of seaweed farming and angling for exotic fish in the Indian ocean, I devoured 4 sea-urchin gin shots for lunch and set out on the ocean floor from The Island Pongwe Lodge on my classic bicycle in the direction of Stone Town on Zanzibar's Western coast. Deciding that cycling the same road I had come the previous day would be boring, I opted for a new route back. This change, or wrong turn if you will, added an extra 15km to what was already a 33km route. That's right, 48km of road to peddle during the hottest hours of the day on my classic, albeit increasingly frail sounding, bike lay ahead. But the road would be paved, and hence an easier ride I conjectured. Let's just say I conjectured wrong....

11. I joined an African tribe

April 15th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: I used to wonder what it'd be like to live in a pre-industrial revolution style community without electricity, running water or even showers and bathrooms. Would I be able to adjust? Could I live without my cell-phone? Double Whooper's? The internet? A kitchen? An actual floor? Ability to see inside my house after sunset? Never really thinking I'd get the opportunity to try this out I'd stopped running this thought experiment until I actually got the chance here in Tanganyika to live this out in real life. Granted the first couple of days I sort of eased myself into it as I still had to treck into the nearest 'town' (if you can even call it that) to get my tribal outfit sorted and stock up on drinking water. For there they have some of the conveniences of modern life such as restaurants selling chapatis and shops selling fabrics.

12. Farmer's Wild Camp in African Bush

April 16th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: For the Masai tribes, cows are the spice of life that underpins their very existence. In fact cows are money. It's a means of facilitating trade and it's also a store of value. The Masai tribes therefore go to great lengths to keep their herds well feed and healthy. Said task is the men's job. The women do basically everything else. Around 9AM everyday most of the men in the tribe wander out to find the best grassing fields for their herds. They stay with them all day and don't return until sunset roughly 10 hours later. This morning I joined them for the very first leg of said journey as I was eager to visit a family of Swahili sharecroppers who'd built a make-shift scrapyard style tent in a cornfield they were tending to on the route the Masai wander out on. We'd stopped there the day before to fry up some corn-cobs but discovered that not only maize was growing in their field.....

13. Buying Hottest Goat in Tribal Market

April 17th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: Twice a month the Masai tribes gather at a huge regional market which sells everything from livestock to tribal clothes and farming equipment. There's also an epic food section at this market which specializes in the freshest beef BBQ I've ever seen. No joke! The skin of the cow is literally on the ground next to the bonfire. The main objective with this tribal market shopping spree was to get myself a more comfortable Masai outfit to wear in my village and to purchase a premium sized goat so the whole tribe could get some much needed proteins in their diet for at least one day. Since all they eat is Ugali, a mixture of Maize and water, with some leaves added into the mix, everyone were really excited when I told them about my goat BBQ plans. So off went in search of the fattest goat in sight... my plans however were quickly, albeit only temporarily, scuttled when I spotted the hottest goat I've seen since Don Jr. My prized albino pet goat

14. Rare Tribal BBQ: Medicinal Masai Soup

April 18th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: Since the Masai tribes of Tanganyika sustain themselves on a diet based on Ugali (maize) and plants, a proper BBQ is an occasion to truly treasure. So when a goat or cow is indeed slaughtered, no part of the animal goes to waste. After purchasing a goat in the tribal market yesterday, for the sole purpose of giving the whole tribe which have shown me such great hospitality a protein filled BBQ day out in the sun, we ventured out into the forest to begin preparations for the feast. What ensued was 8 hours of non-stop Masai style cooking and eating. Several dishes and medicinal soups were cooked and devoured today. The exact names of the many different Masai dishes made are:

15. Shopping in African Bush

April 19th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: How do you charge your phone and computer when the tribe you're living in doesn't have electricity? You travel to capital city of course where there's an abundance of little shops making bank on the fact that even remote Masai tribes have cell-phones and other modern tech these days but lack the infrastructure to keep their devices charged. After delivering my computer and Powerbank to Emy's favorite charging store, we continue on to the town's greatest baker before paying a visit to a tailor to get my new clothes from the market sown together.

16. Laundry in African Bush

April 20th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: When you find yourself living in a remote African village without electricity, running water or even a well, doing laundry suddenly ceases to be something you do when you have 2 minutes to spare to load up your washing-machine, and instead becomes a journey you plan to spend the better part of your day completing. Seeing as I am a visitor here eager to get an insight into what life living in a Masai tribe in Tanzania is truly like, this was something I was royally looking forward to. I thus decided to rent a motorbike and turn doing my laundry into a truly epic excursion through the bushlands of rural Tanzania.

17. Masai Women’s Life

April 21st, 202140 min

18. Faki Party Taxi 3: Motorbike Hunt Fail

April 23rd, 202140 min

TANZANIA, ZANZIBAR: Before leaving Zanzibar almost 2 months ago, I learnt that the World Gongo Hunting Champion of 2021; Mr. Faki Party Taxi, did not actually own a motorbike. The ones he'd been driving me around on were rented from others. This is common on Zanzibar. The Rickshaw drivers I've spoken to also do this. Not one of them have said he owns his vehicle. Instead they rent them for 15 000 Tanzanian shilling per day. They spend another 15 000 on gasoline. Anything above 30 000 is thus profits. After confirming that Faki was also doing this, by having the bartender call him to ask about where he had bought his motorbike, I tried to find a motorbike dealer. But that's easier said than done in Zanzibar. Type motorbike dealer into Google maps and you get some results, but when you go to those shops not a single one of them actually have motorbikes for sale.

19. Making African Car Tyre Shoes

April 27th, 202140 min

TANZANIA, TANGANYIKA: Life out in the bush in Tanzania can be dangerous. But it's not just the wildlife you need to pay close attention to. Little cuts and scrapes from thorns and branches you step on can seriously mess up your foot. It's also super painful. I stepped on such a thorn on Zanzibar and it went straight though my thick running nike shoe (the heel to be precise) and deep into my foot. The local Masai tribes however have come up with a solution for this: make shoes from old car tyres. These shoes are not only super durable. They last for decades according to the people I've spoken to who've grown up wearing them. But they're also super strong and nothing that's grows out in the bush will be able to pierce through your car tyre shoes.

20. USA Roadtrip Begins

August 19th, 202139 min

■ ARIZONA, FLAGSTAFF: After waking up in a strange forest somewhere in Arizona... I follow a trail of mini fireball bottles to a busy highway. Sensing danger and deceit, curiosity gets the better of me as I stumble into an RV only to get what I deserve: the American mobile home road-trip adventure of a lifetime

21. The Walmart Survivalists

August 21st, 202145 min

■ ARIZONA, SEDONA: After spending the night in a Walmart parking lot as there was nowhere else we could park our RV over night, we set out in search of a quality breakfast! The choice fell on Burger King washed down with an afternoon hike and the finest bud light Walmart had on their shelves. But after an incredible day an old dilemma floats to the surface.... with every RV park in the region full yet again... where are we going to park and sleep for the night?

22. Devil's Bridge Hike Arizona

August 23rd, 202149 min

ARIZONA, SEDONA: The little city of Sedona is surrounded by red mountains which make for some of the most scenic hikes in the all of America. After stocking up on petrol and driving the RV into the desert, we set out on foot for one of the highest rated hikes in Arizona: Devil's Bridge. But how much water did we need to bring? And what about rattle snakes? As usual we were out of our element here but it made for a wild day on the road in the US of A.

23. Hunting Wild Burgers in Whopper Canyon

August 26th, 202139 min

ARIZONA, WHOPPER CANYON: Burger King's Double Whopper with bacon and cheese has long been the gold standard hamburger of the American fast food industry. Ever since I had my first Whopper, when Burger King opened their first restaurant near me back in 1996, I've been hooked. 1000+ Burger King visits later and I thought I knew everything there was to know about the taste, price and nutritional value of the mighty whopper. . . . . . turns out, I was wrong!

24. Horseshoe Bend Rocks!

August 28th, 202156 min

ARIZONA, SEDONA: Although covered in red mountains and dry deserts, Arizona has plenty of pristine crystal clear rivers and creeks cutting through its landscape. After starting the day at the famous Slide Rock natural pools, we drove our RV north north towards Arizona's border with Utah. There we stopped at the most instagram friendly and hence possibly most scenic lookout point I've ever rested my eyes on: Horseshoe Bend.

25. $1000 Luxury AirBnb Cabin Colorado

August 29th, 202157 min

COLORADO, BRECKENRIDGE

26. Venice of Walmarts Colorado

August 30th, 20211 hr 4 min

COLORADO, DURANGO: In the Walmart community, there is one location everyone dream of spending the night in; The Venice of Walmarts in Durango Colorado. Adjacent to the Animas river, this really is the creme de la creme of parking lots to park up for the night in.... or so I was told by Mr Louise. But first we had to get there. That meant driving the RV over a road that at one stage went above 9900 feet. Coming down on the other side Louise spotted a sign which said scenic waterfall. I objected to stopping as I was ready to kick his ass in the McDonald's RV McNugget eating championship we had planned for the afternoon but he would not listen. So off we went on what turned out to be an exceptional little hike in the Rocky Mountains.

27. Brutal Solo Climb Arizona Desert

August 31st, 202138 min

ARIZONA, OAK CREEK: After spending a week in Colorado and the epic rocky mountains we once again set out on a day long drive through the Navajo nation (where attractions remains closed unlike in the States it is located in). The history and nature walks of said place would have to wait for another trip. Nic, the world's greatest RV driver, therefore drove non-stop for over 10 hours which saw us arrive in Sedona 2AM! Naturally the next day she was not up for a brutal hike up the face of Bell rock in the excruciating Arizona summer desert heat. As for Lewis he had some work to do after 2 weeks on the road with no internet. It therefore fell upon my shoulders to find a path to the top of one of the craziest mountains I have ever seen: Bell Rock of Oak Creek. I chose the hottest time a day so as to get the mountain to myself. 42 degrees celsius climbing adventure here I come!

28. Texas Tube Party

September 7th, 202139 min

TEXAS, SAN ANTONIO: There's a famous saying in Norway for situations that appears excessively wild or out of control: - Det er helt Texas her jo! Literally, it's total Texas here! In Norway, Texas is a euphemism for a free wheeling place where anything goes. All my life I've heard Norwegians use this phrase, including myself, without actually having met a single Northman who've ever walked the soil of the Lone Star Republic. The saying likely dates back to the days of the gun slinging cowboys of the old Wild Wild West and has naturally stood the test of time as nothing is scarier to a government worshipping contemporary Norwegian than just that; people with guns ruling themselves and not waiting for orders on what to think say and do from some central authority in a far away city.

29. Texas Helicopter Pork Hunt

September 8th, 202141 min

TEXAS, SAN ANTONIO

30. Texas Pork Hunt 2

September 12th, 202159 min

TEXAS, USA: Given the Norse pork control patrol's hog procurement failure of yesterday (the pigs were too big to fit in the helicopter), my natural pork glow had started to fade and my levels were critically low. A porkmergency was imminent! Luckily my friend TJ has a huge wild hog problem on his hunting ranch and he said we'd be doing him a mega favor if we were able to put some of them down. So off we went to set up an ambush near his deer-blind no family of wild hogs would be able to resist.....

31. I porked CopperCab's sister

September 14th, 202130 min

KANSAS, AUBREY'S BEDROOM: A couple of days after I started uploading from USA, I received a video message from a certain old soulless ginger of SouthPark infamy: CopperCab. Or Cooper Jones as he now goes by, after it came out he is Alex Jones' son born out of wedlock to a one legged Irish drifter named Clodagh in Atlanta's Celtic community.

32. Surviving Wyoming's Fireball Peak

WYOMING, BIG HORN MOUNTAINS

33. $160 Wild West Hotel Wyoming

September 17th, 202153 min

BUFFALO, WYOMING: Having lived on the road for 20+ years it takes a lot for me to be impressed by a hotel room. Hotels, especially in the USA, are generally a complete ripp-off and borderline scam considering what they charge for a simple night's stay in a spartan 4 by 4 meter soulless room. The Occidental hotel of Buffalo Wyoming, which dates back to the 1870s and still has all the original interior intact, bucks this trend. In fact, this is the best and most unique hotel I have ever stayed at regardless of country! It is so good it's worth flying to Wyoming just to stay here if you have an interest in the history of America's Old Wild Wild West. But it is not available through the usual booking sites such as hotels.com or booking.com The Historic Occidental Hotel of Buffalo Wyoming make a living solely based upon their excellent reputation and word of mouth. Hence if you wanna book a stay here you've got to go through their website direct or give them a call.

34. Shopping at Motorcycle Rally Sturgis

September 20th, 20211 hr 9 min

SOUTH DAKOTA, STURGIS: The world's biggest motorcycle rally is held annually in Sturgis South Dakota. Over one million bikers from all over the United States ride to this little town for a week long party every August. Naturally the sleepy little town swells into a booming marketplace for all kinds of businesses selling interesting t-shirts, unique motorbikes and even weapons. This was a roadtrip slash party slash shopping opportunity I did not want to miss!To be honest I'd never heard of this annual motorbike rally in Sturgis before it was being slandered in a major Norwegian newspaper that very same week as a horrible Mexican beer plague spreading event! Since most things the media says is bad, is generally quite awesome, I pitched the idea of driving there to Sunil who immediately said: YES LET'S GO THERE!!!

35. This hamburger puts In-N-Out's to shame

September 25th, 202135 min

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE

36. Las Vegas Hotel: USA Deleted Scenes

September 29th, 20211 hr 11 min

LAS VEGAS, THE STRIP: Las Vegas hotel rooms are notoriously expensive. Gone are the days where you just put a couple of Dollars on a crazy wheels slot machine and your accommodation is free. Stuck between paying the sky high peak summer prices for a mediocre budget hotel room at a classic centre of the strip hotel like Flamingo, which wanted $220 a night, and the semi-luxurious The Cosmopolitan for just $100 more, I opted for the latter. Very few Las Vegas hotel rooms have a balcony like The Cosmo, plus I've never stayed at this end of the strip before. A night of reveling in a luxurious jacuzzi overlooking the famous fountains of The Bellagio would do me good I reasoned.... So did my room at The Cosmopolitan justify the insane price tag?

39. The Favela People

October 27th, 20211 hr 13 min

BRAZIL, RIO DE JANEIRO: Most residents who live in one of Brazil's many favelas are just ordinary people who happen to find themselves in an incredibly unorthodox living situation. Over a period of a couple of days, Henry and I trawled the dark cramped alleys of the Rocinha and Vidigal favelas, letting some of the awesome people who live there give us a glimpse of their unique way of life.

40. The Mosaic Maker

November 3rd, 202146 min

NICOSIA, CYPRUS: I joined a group tour of Cyprus with Simon Wilson to investigate the incredible history of this mediterranean island. I expected the highlight of said tour to be the many mountain-top Venetian castles that still stand proud and strong along the coastline of Cyprus and Mr. Simon Wilson diving into the street food scene. Whilst the one medieval fortress I visited was indeed impressive, and Simon nearly overdosed on McDonald's Street Big Mac menu, I ended up aborting the tour to set up an appointment with a woman I ran into that first day who told me she makes mosaics! But does she really make them herself? Are there really artists that have kept this epic ancient craft which was the principal art form in the Byzantine empire alive? And can I order my very own custom mosaic of whatever motif I like? I had a million questions and hence spent the next week figuring it all out. Here's how it went!

41. Nepal's Himalayan Express

December 29th, 202153 min

NEPAL, SYAPRU BESI: The Himalayas, home of Mount Everest, also have many lesser known peaks and mountain plateaus that are far more accessible to the layman trekker. One of these is the Kyankin Ri mountain top, which is accessible by foot if you're willing to walk for the 3 days it takes to hike up there. Having never done anything other than single day mountain hikes, I felt up for the challenge. But first I needed to get up to the Langtang National Park where the gorge you'll walk through to get to the Langtang mountain range begins. That meant a grueling 8 hour bus journey on what is surely the worst road I've ever driven on. But when I rocked up at Kathmandu's central bus station at 5AM to board the Himalayan Express Bus I had no idea about the adventure that lay ahead...
