Wood is wonderful. Natural, versatile, sustainable and in skilled hands, it can be transformed into anything you want it to be. Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker is back to celebrate the beauty of wood and the talented woodworkers who craft it. Mel Giedroyc returns and is joined by ten of the UK’s top woodworking enthusiasts who will battle it out for the coveted prize of being named Britain’s Best Woodworker. The woodworkers will fight hammer and nail, building wonderful works of wood in just two days that combine epic scale with fine craftsmanship and cutting-edge design. They’ll also face a range of surprise challenges that test their core skills. But they'll have to impress the judges, entrepreneur and woodworking expert Sophie Sellu and design academic Tom Dyckhoff, to remain in the competition.

1. Episode 1
Whose garden bench and wooden greetings card will carve out a place in the next round?
2. Episode 2
The remaining woodworkers throw all their energy into creating two freestanding lamps

The carpenters are challenged to build elaborate coffee tables.
4. Episode 4
The woodworkers turn fiction into fact by making a freestanding bookshelf. But whose wooden candelabra will light the way to the next round?
5. Episode 5
The woodworkers make a supersized creepy crawly, and use all their canine cunning to construct a house for a four-legged friend.
6. Episode 6
The five remaining woodworkers make a beautiful four-poster bed and carve an Indian block print. But will their skills be the stuff of dreams or a living nightmare?
7. Episode 7
It's the semi-final, and it all hangs in the balance as the woodworkers create a hanging chair and master the pole lathe. Who will be sitting pretty in the final?
8. Episode 8
The three finalists build a kitchen island and an accessory to compliment it. Who has the recipe for success to be crowned as Britain's Best Woodworker?
