1. Doneraile Court
Situated at the heart of Ireland's most haunted town, Doneraile, is Doneraile Court. Its doors have not been open to the public for 50 years but now, with the help of a massive restoration project, that's all about to change.
2. Kylemore Abbey
As one of the most famous castles in Ireland, Kylemore Abbey has served as a project of romance, a holiday home and a convent school over the course of its 151 year history. Now, it is to return to its former glory.
3. Emo Court
As one of the most prestigious houses of its time, Emo Court was handed over to the state 25 years ago. Now, the team are tasked with bringing this palatial mansion back to life.
4. Russborough House
Russborough House is home to one of Ireland's most coveted art collections. We oversee the conservation and return of some of their most notable masterpieces. Russborough has been victim to some of Ireland's most famous art heists.
5. Johnstown Castle
Johnstown Castle has a long and storied history of Norman invasions, Cromwellian conquests and the First World War. Curator Matt Wheeler and his team piece together the castle's 800-year history, bringing Johnstown into the 21st century.
6. Castletown House
Built in 1722, Castletown House was the first palladian mansion in Ireland. Its original owner, William "Speaker" Conolly, was the richest man in Ireland. This is reflected in the lavish interior and exterior of this spectacular residence.
7. Strokestown House
A house with a chequered history, Strokestown House was the seat of the Pakenham-Mahon family and is now the home to the National Famine Museum.
8. Kilkenny Castle
Once the seat of the powerful Butlers of Ormonde, Kilkenny Castle fell into dereliction in the mid-20th century, before it was brought back to life to invite and excite visitors.
9. Glebe House
Glebe House and Gallery in Co. Donegal was the home of the renowned artist Derek Hill. Now under the care of the OPW, Glebe's curator and director, Adrian Kelly brings us on a journey through the artist's extensive collection.
10. Farmleigh House
Once a Dublin residence of the fabled Guinness family, this Edwardian period house, just on the outskirts of Dublin's Phoenix Park, is the official Irish State guesthouse.
