Season 4 Plot
The season introduced several new characters, such as Jake Puckerman, Marley Rose, Kitty Wilde, Hunter Clarington, and winner and runner up of The Glee Project, Ryder Lynn and Betty Pillsbury respectively, it also counts with the return of Unique Adams. New characters were introduced as the plot focuses on the new generation of the New Directions due to the loss of several members after graduation. The plot also focuses on Rachel's college experience in New York as well as what the rest of the alumni are doing after graduation.
Glee Season 4 aired on September 13th, 2012.
Season 4 Episodes
1. The New Rachel
In the season premiere episode, the members of New Directions compete amongst themselves to become the next star of the glee club. During open auditions, a fresh crop of students is introduced, including Marley and Jake Puckerman, Puck's half-brother. Meanwhile, Rachel has a rocky start at NYADA and struggles to please her demanding dance teacher, Cassandra July. She also meets Brody, a handsome upperclassman.
2. Britney 2.0
Brittany hopes the music of Britney Spears will get her out of a funk; a new friend helps Rachel adjust to life in New York.
3. Makeover
In the wake of Kurt’s departure, Blaine tries to distract from his loneliness by entering the race for Senior Class President. The move puts him in direct conflict with Brittany who looks to repeat for a second term. After struggling to come up with fresh ideas for New Directions, Will begins to fear that he’s losing his enthusiasm for show choir. When an opportunity to reignite his passion and make a lasting positive impact on his students presents itself, the procrastinating Will gets prodding from two vastly different sources. After landing an internship with fashion icon Isabelle Klempt, Kurt comes up with an out-of-the-box idea to revitalize the fashionista’s sagging brand. While his initiative earns him a new mentor and earns Rachel a much needed makeover, his success also has a troublesome impact back in Lima.
4. The Break-Up
Rachel and Kurt are caught off-guard when they get unexpected visits in New York City. Meanwhile, Santana and Brittany deal with the long distance between them, and Will and Emma disagree on a new job offer.
5. The Role You Were Born to Play
Hopes and schemes play out as the Glee Club holds auditions for the school’s musical.
6. Glease
Rachel and Kurt pay a visit to Lima as the glee club launches its production of "Grease". Meanwhile, Cassandra July returns to shake things up in Rachel's life, and Santana comes back to lend a helping hand.
7. Dynamic Duets
A love triangle heats up among Marley, Jake and Ryder, and Blaine has a run-in with the Warblers.
8. Thanksgiving
It's time for Sectionals, and New Directions receives guidance from some of the recent McKinley graduates who volunteer to mentor the glee club during their Thanksgiving breaks. Meanwhile, Rachel and Kurt have a non-traditional holiday dinner in the Big Apple.
9. Swan Song
Finn thinks about his future with the glee club after Sectionals are over. Elsewhere, Rachel gets ready for NYADA's winter showcase; and Kurt gets a second chance at an audition.
10. Glee, Actually
A tribute to the film "Love, Actually" with different storylines all dealing with the holidays. Sam and Brittany live as if it's the end of the world as the Mayans know it. The Puckermans, including half-brothers Puck and Jake and their mothers, come together for Hanukkah. Artie has an epiphany through a dream sequence. Kurt has an unforgettable Christmas.
11. Sadie Hawkins
McKinley’s Sadie Hawkins dance offers several gleeks a rare chance to feel empowered. Sam and Blaine investigate a possible cheating scandal at Sectionals. Kurt makes a new friend at NYADA.
12. Naked
New Directions produces a sexy calendar to raise money for their trip to Regionals. Rachel is faced with a personal dilemma when she’s cast in a student film. Finn and Sue go toe-to-toe.
13. Diva
Finn encourages the glee-club members to channel their inner divas. Elsewhere, Rachel's arrogance causes Kurt to reach a breaking point; and Emma throws herself into wedding preparations.
14. I Do
Will and Emma get ready for their Valentine's Day wedding with the help of past and present New Directions members.
15. Girls (and Boys) on Film
The kids of New Directions go head-to-head in their annual boys vs. girls mash-up competition, this time using the music of the movies. Meanwhile, in New York, Santana makes herself at home in the loft a little too quickly for Rachel and Kurt's comfort.
16. Feud
Blaine and Sue will have a sing-off, while Ryder has a scary story coming.
17. Guilty Pleasures
The New Directions tackle an assignment, meaning the songs as well as groups that everyone is too embarrassed to admit that they love.
18. Shooting Star
The members of New Directions are prepping for regionals, but when an unthinkable event occurs at McKinley High, perspectives are put into order.
19. Sweet Dreams
When Mr. Schuester comes up with the setlist for regionals, the New Directions are not pleased, Rachel sings an unexpected song for her "Funny Girl audition", and Marley writes an original song.
20. Lights Out
When the power goes out at McKinley High, Will and Finn enlist the members of New Directions to "unplug" and perform acoustic numbers. Meanwhile, Isabelle Wright asks Kurt to volunteer at the Vogue.com charity event, with Rachel and Santana in tow.
21. Wonder-Ful
The members of New Directions take on the greatest hits of music icon Stevie Wonder. Meanwhile, Artie receives news that could affect his future and his mom. In New York, Rachel prepares for her "Funny Girl" callback.
22. All or Nothing
It's finally time for Regionals, and the glee club is more determined than ever to advance to Nationals. Brittany returns from her MIT trip with a new attitude and Ryder finally has a lead on who is "catfishing" him.
