1. A Leafy Highway

January 7th, 1997

Geoff Hamilton presents six-part series showcasing gardens as escapist havens from the modern world. In this edition Geoff takes a visit to some awe-inspiring secluded garden havens.The first leg of Geoff's journey takes him to an inner city garden in Cardiff, and then onto a garden paradise belonging to an Oxfordshire couple, then at his last stop Geoff visits a friar's forest garden.

2. Summer in the City

January 14th, 1997

Geoff Hamilton visits two very different inner city gardens: Martin Summer's Chelsea roof garden, and a small balcony garden in Bermondsey, owned by the Gardiner family. Then back at Geoff's Barnsdale garden, he lays down a patio.

3. Secret Corners

Geoff Hamilton offers advice on how to create a paradise in your own garden.In this edition Items featured include touring a Warwick town garden, advice on using trellis to make fencing higher, ideas on creating a willow arbour, and a peek at an idyllic country garden.

4. A Feast of Colour

January 28th, 1997

Gardening series presented by Geoff Hamilton. In this edition, Geoff investigates how the use of colour in gardens can affect us. He goes on a tour of some captivatingly colourful gardens, visiting Miriam Rothschild's wildflower meadow, the medieval meads at Tretower Court in Powys, and a garden in Hampshire that has been restored according to its original 1908 planting scheme, designed by Gertrude Jekyll.Geoff examines how colour has been used within these gardens' overall design schemes, to bring a sense of vibrancy, energy and captivation to these green spaces. On Geoff's return to Barnsdale he begins to incorporate many of his recently-acquired colour design principles into his own garden.

5. A Mirror for the Sky

February 4th, 1997

Geoff Hamilton offers advice on how to create a paradise in your own garden. In this edition he tours a collection of wonderful gardens that showcase great ideas for incorporating water features into garden schemes.During the programme he visits the garden of Paul Guppy; this garden features an impressive assortment of ponds, streams and tunnels. Then he heads over to Geoffrey Smith's green enclave in Warwick. Here Geoffrey offers a demonstration on how to create a mysterious water feature in a backyard. The last stop is at Cleve West's garden, where he offers some helpful tips on how to achieve a futuristic style in the garden.

6. Good Old Mother Nature

Last in the series in which Geoff Hamilton offers advice on how to create a paradise garden.In this programme, Geoff looks at gardens which were designed for the dual purpose of exuding delightful natural fragrancea, and to generate great visual impact. These gardens feature an abundance of both wildlife and plantlife, including wild roses. Other items featured in the programme include a visit to a cottage herbery, and a garden designed to engage the visually impaired.
