Season 1 Plot
Flavor of Poland will bring Americans closer to the art of cooking Polish dishes from diverse locales in Poland and from all walks of life. Each episode will visit a different region of Poland where the viewer will explore the local culture, discover secrets of the area's artisanal food products, and follow host Aleksandra August as she recreates the main regional dishes in her kitchen.

Season 1 Episodes
1. Krakow
In this episode of Flavor of Poland, Aleksandra August, takes American TV viewers on a walk through the Lesser Poland region, exploring the local history, culture and tastes through its capital city, Kraków. Kraków was the old capital of Poland prior to Warsaw, having served as its political center for a total of 3 times throughout history, and altogether for a period of 700 years!
2. Warsaw
In this episode of Flavor of Poland viewers will be taken on an unbelievable walk through the Polish capital uncovering important, historic monument sites such as the Old Town district, the Royal Castle, Barbican, Łazienki Royal Baths Park, Monuments to Young Heroes of the Warsaw Uprising and Wilanów Palace! Along the way host, Aleksandra August, will take a stroll through some of the modern areas of the city as well, exploring its skyscrapers and paying a visit to some of its most elegant and modern restaurants.
3. Rzeszów
In this episode of Flavor of Poland viewers are taken on a tour of the Sub-Carpathian region. This is home to the beautiful city of Rzeszów, a region with a long and rich history and a part of Poland that abounds in beautiful natural surroundings – countless, lush forests, parks and mountains.
4. Podlaskie
In this episode of Flavor of Poland viewers are taken to the northeastern part of Poland, to the Podlaskie voivodship, also commonly referred to as “Podlasie.” The Podlaskie region is, historically, one of the most diverse provinces of Poland in terms of ethnicity and culture.
5. Warmian-Masurian Region
In this episode of Flavor of Poland viewers are taken to one of the most stunning natural landscapes of Poland – the Warmian-Masurian region, otherwise referred to as “The Land of a Thousand Lakes,” “The Green Lungs of Poland,” “One of Nature’s Wonders,” or colloquially speaking, “Mazury.”
6. The Pomeranian Region
Sea breezes, tall ships, a nautical tradition, a long, rich and fascinating part of Polish history and great Polish seafood – this is what viewers will have a chance to experience in this episode of Flavor of Poland with a visit to the Pomeranian region!
7. Katowice
The region of Silesia, located in the southeastern part of Poland, is historically a center of hard industry. It boasts of an interesting history and many rich traditions and hearty, home made recipes that were born out of its old, industrial landscape. Its capital is the bustling city of Katowice, a place that offers visitors plenty of attractions to explore!
8. Wrocław
In this episode of Flavor of Poland viewers are taken to one of the most charming parts of Poland – the Lower Silesian voivodship and home to the enchanting city of Wrocław, also the capital of the region. Viewers will be taken on a romantic stroll through the historic streets of Wrocław, visiting its stunning Market Square, considered one of the most colorful and beautiful market squares in Europe.
9. Greater Poland Region
In this episode of Flavor of Poland viewers are taken on a one-of-a-kind journey to the very birthplace of Poland! This sentimental walk through the Greater Poland region takes viewers on a tour of its capital city, Poznań, as well as the nearby town of Gniezno, two places on Poland’s map that played a very significant role in its early days as a nation.
10. Toruń
In this episode of Flavor of Poland, we’ll explore the traces of Poland’s Teutonic history with a visit to the beautiful medieval city of Toruń, capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region of Poland, as well as and the town of Malbork located just outside of the region. Founded in the 13th century by the Teutonic Knights Order, Toruń is one of Poland’s oldest and historically richest cities, once a member of the great, Hanseatic League.
11. Kielce
In this episode viewers will be taken on a tour of the Holy Cross region, exploring its capital city of Kielce before venturing off deep into its countryside to learn about its old folk traditions and the delicious tastes that developed out of that old way of life.
12. Lublin
Lublin is the capital of the Lublin region of Poland. It is a city of many important historical events of great significance. The first settlements formed here in the times of King Bolesław Chrobry as early as 1198. Due to its long history, the area abounds in legends and countless old relics and monuments left over from centuries past.
13. Podhale Region
Along Poland’s southern border lies a region that is home to one of the country’s most stunning landscapes as well as one of its most spirited and vibrant cultures. This is Podhale – home to the stunning Polish Tatra Mountain range and a place where food, history, song, dance and old customs are defined by a unique character that lives deep in the heart of its locals, the Polish Highlanders.
