A single mother's dedication towards her children is the highest form of maternal duty, and Sharda is one such mother. Her daughters Meghna and Naina return to their home town Boondi, where their recent academic success has made them household names. But when Meghna announces her new high paying job in Mumbai, societal rules weigh down on her as her uncle Vishnu and aunt Asha start planning her marriage. With a prospective groom on the way, Meghna has to make a decision.
