Season 1 Plot
As a child, Park Hoon and his dad were kidnapped and taken to North Korea. He grew up there, learning to be a doctor just like his father. When Park Hoon escapes back to South Korea and begins work at a prestigious hospital, he makes it his goal to earn enough money to go back to North Korea to rescue his true love. He'll do anything to find her, but then he meets and falls for a mysterious woman who looks exactly like her.

Season 1 Episodes
1. Episode 1
In a last minute effort to stop a war between North and South Korea, Doctor Park Cheol and his son Park Hoon are sent to the north to perform heart surgery on the North Korean leader.
2. Episode 2
Park Hoon is sent to Hungary to perform a difficult surgery. While there, he attempts to escape the North's clutches along with his childhood crush, Song Jae Hee.
3. Episode 3
When a horrendous traffic accident creates chaos at a local hospital, Park Hoon winds up preforming an unlicensed surgery to save a dying father.
4. Episode 4
After impressing the hospital staff, Park Hoon is hired to head up a new surgery team, but his North Korean past creates tensions with the existing staff.
5. Episode 5
When Park Hoon is fired after performing a controversial surgery, he finds a chance to redeem himself using his surgical skill.
6. Episode 6
Park Hoon is emotionally tormented as a doctor who looks exactly like his lost love Song Jae Hee continues to insist that she is not.
7. Episode 7
As the competition to perform heart surgery on the Korean Prime Minster heats up, the pressure is on Park Hoon to once again show off his surgical skills.
8. Episode 8
Back room power struggles at the hospital threaten the legitimacy of the competition while evidence mounts that the Han Jae Joon may not be all that she seems.
9. Episode 9
The surgery competition finally begins only to end with a shocking twist. Meanwhile, pressure is mounting on Jae Hee to complete her mission

Han Jae Joon and Park Hoon's long awaited reconnection is cut short when they are both kidnaped and taken back to the north.

Han Jae Joon uses Park Hoon's illegal action of looking at private medical records as leverage to reinstate their competition.

The competition takes a dark turn as Park Hoon's loyalty to the hospital is put to the test and not just his surgery skills.

When the prime minister announces he will have his heart surgery at a different hospital and a looming malpractice suit begins to take form, the staff at Myung Woo Hospital fear for their jobs.
14. Episode 14
Allegiances are tested when Jae Hee finally reveals her true intentions to Park Hoon.
15. Episode 15
Park Hoon is reprimanded after performing a very risky surgical procedure in a last ditch effort to save a dying patient.
16. Episode 16
The competition between surgeons reaches a boiling point as Han Jae-joon is desperate to prove himself.
17. Episode 17
In the final round of the competition Park Hoon is forced to confront what it truly means to be a doctor.
18. Episode 18
The prime minister finally reveals who will perform the heart surgery.
19. Episode 19
Park Hoon is once again forced to use the risky SAVER procedure to save the president.
20. Episode 20
In the thrilling conclusion to Doctor Stranger Park Hoon and Jae Hee make the ultimate sacrifice to be together.
