The contestants (ministers) are put in a crisis command center and face an ultra-realistic simulation of a major crisis. In this particular scenario, there has been a massive explosion at Waterloo Station in London, causing chaos and numerous casualties. The ministers have to decide what do to.

2. Plague

September 5th, 20041 hr

The ministers are faced with the challenge of addressing a potential crisis, an outbreak of a suspicious illness in Liverpool. News reports indicate that 27 patients have been quarantined, with six others in intensive care. The cause of the outbreak is unknown, and health officials are concerned it could lead to an epidemic. The ministers have to decide what to do.

3. Flood

September 12th, 20041 hr

More extraordinary circumstances confront ordinary people. How will three members of the public cope with a simulated flood crisis? They'll receive military help from Air Marshall Sir Tim Garden, communications tips from former Conservative spin doctor Amanda Platell and advice on the emergency services from intelligence officer Charles Shoebridge - but, acting as government ministers, they make the ultimate decisions.

4. Hostage

When a simulated hostage situation looms, can members of the public run the country? They are guided by Gavin Hewitt, with military advisor Sir Tim Garden, spin doctor Amanda Platell and former counter-terrorism expert Charles Shoebridge.
