Christmas with the Meiland Family Season 1

After a turbulent year, the Meiland family would love to go on holiday and spend the Christmas holidays in the snow. As it can be as low as -20 degrees at the holiday destination, the family has an excellent excuse to shop extensively for winter outfits first. Packed, packed and looking forward to the holiday, the family starts their journey. They spend the first days in an authentic lumberjack house with a very special toilet. They also try to get groceries in Swedish for a traditional Swedish meal and warm themselves up in a sauna.

During their holiday, the family immerses themselves in Swedish culture. This means that they will bake Swedish meatballs themselves, taste caviar in a tube during the drink and visit the traditional nomadic people of the Sami. They can spend the night in an old hiker's cabin that is devoid of any comfort, so no electricity, running water or central heating. There they hope to be able to see the northern lights.

The Meiland family is enjoying their snow holiday in Sweden to the fullest. In a magical winter wonderland, they go out with huskies, spend the night in an ice hotel and are invited to Santa's house. They transform their holiday home into a Christmas palace like only the Meiland family can. Martien dives back into the kitchen and together they celebrate Christmas with lots of fun and gifts.
