Season 1 Plot

Biff Baker, U.S.A. is an American adventure television program starring Alan Hale Jr. in the title role and Randy Stuart as his wife, Louise. The series was broadcast on CBS from November 13, 1952, until March 26, 1953. As the operator of an importing business, Biff Baker traveled around the world with Louise to find merchandise.

1. Koblen

The Bakers (Alan Hale Jr. as Biff Baker and Randy Stuart as his wife, Louise) usually became involved with international intrigue of some kind, often related to spying. In this episode Charles Bronson guest stars as a Czech spy (under his proper name Charles Buchinsky). The show was produced by Revue Studios and sponsored by Lucky Strike cigarettes. This episode (S01 E01) was directed by Richard Irving and written by Frank Burt and Fenton Earnaham.

When Biff tries to help a young Polish boy recover his mother's diamond ring from a thief, he discovers a crooked ring of "gray marketeers" who prey on refugees in Marseilles.

5. Alpine Assignment

The Reds are jamming Voice of America broadcasts into Vienna. Biff and Louise have to find out where the jamming is coming from so they can stop it. Charles Bronson appeared as a Czech spy named Wilhelm in this episode

6. Mona Lisa

The Bakers are invited to import some contemporary paintings, but they soon become aware that they are actually old masterpieces(including the Mona Lisa!) looted from great museums by the Nazis, now painted over to get them out of Europe by murderous art thieves.

7. Counterfeit Plates

While vacationing in the German Alps, Biff and Louise learn of a Nazi plan to counterfeit American money and try to find the missing plates that were used to print the twenty dollar bills.
