They’re the hard-core gold prospectors of Outback Australia and they’re on a mission to strike it rich! Whether it’s back-breaking work, extreme weather, mechanical breakdowns or cutthroat competition, prospecting is not for the faint-hearted. But our cast of gold hunters is tough, resourceful and ready for the challenge. Among them is husband and wife team Chris and Greg, the ‘Gold Gypsies’. 2 years ago they walked away from their Brisbane home and construction careers to chase their dream of striking it big, 4000km away. Having spent their life savings to set up their mining operation, the self-taught prospectors’ future rests on gold, for better or for worse… Meanwhile, best mates Vern and Leon, aka the Dirt Dogs, are running a gold operation in which they’ve sunk a million bucks into building what they claim is the ‘biggest dry blower in the universe’ affectionately known as ‘Goldzilla’. Having ploughed a fortune into their season plan, the Dogs are under massive pressure to unearth another, just to break even… Meanwhile, remote prospectors Henri and Kellie are going it alone. Armed with their high tech detectors, the best friends seek their fortune out in the farthest depths of the wild outback – where rival prospectors fear to tread. Follow their journeys and those of people they mingle with in the outback towns of the region, as we capture the daily drama, challenges and the sheer exhilaration of the hunt for AUSSIE GOLD!

In Western Australia's legendary goldfields, three teams of hardcore gold prospectors risk their dreams and futures as they pursue the ultimate golden reward.
2. Mech Disasters and a High-Stakes Gamble
Mechanical problems and a high-stakes gamble threaten to derail the gold season for both the Dirt Dogs and the Gold Gypsies.
3. Uprooting and Salt-Lake Gold
As ‘Dirt Dogs' Vern and Leon are forced to uproot their operation, ‘Gold Gypsies' Chris and Greg face a huge decision. Remote prospectors Henri and Kelli strike salt lake gold.
4. Big Storm and Big Finds
Torrential rain threatens to drown out the season for the Dirt Dogs. Remote prospectors Henri and Kellie hit a hot streak, while the Gold Gypsies strike a once-in-a- lifetime find.
5. All or Nothing and Gold Rich Patch
The ‘Dirt Dogs' fightback comes down to a make or break clean-up, Chris and Greg surf a wave of reef gold, and Henri and Kellie risk life and limb to stay on a hot streak.
6. Targets and Unwanted Guests
Kellie and Henri face poachers and a crippling dry streak, and the 'Dirt Dogs' must break new ground to stay in business. Plus, the 'Gold Gypsies' seek out precious reef gold.
7. Breakdowns and Complications
Kellie and Henri encounter breakdowns and bandits, and a failed plan sees the 'Gold Gypsies' run out of time and options. The 'Dirt Dogs' uncover a huge find - but there's a catch.
8. Digging Deep, Risking Life and Limb
In the final week of gold season, the Dirt Dogs gamble big to hit their tally. Kellie and Henri mount a last-chance hunt for big nuggets, and the Gold Gypsies pursue their goal.
