Season 1 Plot

Released from October 26, 2007 (Volume 1) to August 22, 2008 (Final volume) At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Kiriko and four soldiers were gathered to research "supernatural beings". At the end of the Hundred Years' War, Chirico Cubby was under a barrage of bullets. Meanwhile, Peelsen falls from grace due to the scandal surrounding Red Shoulder. The military leaders try to bury Peelsen, but are rescued from the court by Wackham, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information. Wockham, who focused on the secret documents left behind by Peelsen, was planning to experiment with the usefulness of "supernatural beings" and use this as a foothold for his position after the war. Thus, Kiriko, who came under Wockham's surveillance, was forced to fight on harsh battlefields one after another, along with the four people picked up in the secret document: Birkov, Godan, Zaki, and Kochak. "If you don't have supernatural powers, you won't survive."

1. River crossing operation

October 26th, 2007

The largest operation in history, the Taibus River Crossing Operation, has begun. Gilgamesh's AT unit is forced to struggle against the Balarant army defending the riverbank. Explosive sounds and a hail of bullets filled the space, and Kiriko was among them. At the same time, Colonel Persen, who is monitoring Chirico, finds himself in the predicament of a military tribunal for the crime of Red Shoulder.

2. Galeade

October 26th, 2007

Before his wounds from Taibus have healed, Kiriko is assigned to the planet Galeade M7 base, where he meets the strong veteran soldier Godan, the strangely caring Birkov, and the child soldier Zaki, who is trying to kill Kiriko for some reason. Before he can enjoy a short break, Kiriko and Godan are attacked by a mysterious sniper.

Kiriko and the Birkov Squad are sent to the front line base X-2, where they meet up with another of their comrades, Kochak. In order for the main force of Gilgamesh's army to pass through the Manido Valley, he is ordered to capture the Balarant army defending the valley. Without any trust in each other, Kiriko and his friends use paragliders to raid a floating fortress suspended at the top of a ravine.

After receiving the report that the Balarant Air Fortress has been conquered, Gilgamesh's main ground force begins passing through the Manido Valley, and when they notice the existence of the Balarant AT that Kochak had shot at, Kiriko and his friends search for the Air Fortress again. Suddenly, a huge object begins to descend over their heads, and they learn that the fortress cannon has been activated.

Kiriko and the others miraculously returned alive from the Valley of Death, and although they were exposed to resentment and scrutiny, they continued to serve in the military. During AT maintenance training, a mysterious accident occurs, and Kiriko and Godan are attacked again by someone. At that time, at the Ministry of Information medical camp on the planet Kuzsk, Wokkam began interrogating Peirsen using the confession device MRC.

6. Extraordinary ability

"Who are the five people who were gathered?" On the planet Kuzusk, the interrogation of Pailsen becomes even more intense. Meanwhile, in Galeade, military police are dispatched as the actions of Birkov Squad are considered a rebellion, and the atmosphere at the M7 base becomes chaotic. Kiriko and Godin are cornered into a tank block that stores a huge amount of Polymer Ringer's liquid as the military police intensify their attacks.

7. sniper

April 25th, 2008

A transport plane headed for a far north base is suddenly attacked and forced to crash into the wilderness. What was waiting for Kiriko and his friends on the ground was a sniper from someone. The sniper calls himself the "Gilgames Army Purification Committee" and demands that "Shirasko the Grim Reaper," or Godan, be sent out or he will shoot everyone. There were five people on board and two pilots. The sound of gunshots forces the seven people in a dark and tense locked room to make a quick decision.

Having lost their transport plane, Kiriko and his friends arrive at their reassignment in the far north on foot in the blizzard of wind and snow. As the withdrawal of all troops from Galeade progresses, the base is empty, and only Ensign Wapp, who has been ordered to investigate the murder of the Yugund command, is waiting. Wapp tries to take out the culprit, the Ballant Army AT team, and a premonition of an abnormal cold wave that shows ominous clouds. All of which surround Birkov Squad.

Kiriko and his friends are isolated at the far north base. Below me, the army of Balant was swarming, and above my head, an ultra-cold air mass began to swirl eerily. In order to survive the ultra-low temperatures of -200 degrees, Kochak is left with the task of formulating a polymeric Ringer's solution. Meanwhile, Wapp takes advantage of Birkhoff's past and forces him to inform him. Five people's extraordinary abilities are put to the test as the time limit approaches to crush impatience, conflict, and life.

10. Operational motion

12. monad

August 22nd, 2008

For a long moment, four men stare at the Kocak plane falling in front of them. It seemed like the Birkov Squad had finally lost its first man, but Kochak crawled out from the AT after landing, looking unaffected even though he was injured. "Is it true that we are supernatural beings?" Immediately after feeling relieved, Kochak is shattered by enemy bullets, and Godan is exhausted. Birkov Squad's journey ends on the planet Monad, which has begun to collapse.
