Season 3 Episodes
1. Episode 01
In the first program participants gathered at Ellis Island in New York before leaving for Norway, and the Americans are going to Norway in exactly the same way as their ancestors left the country: By boat! It gets emotional when Norwegian-Americans sailing to Halden and put their feet's on Norwegian soil for the very first time.
2. Episode 02
It gets serious when Norwegian-Americans are going to an old-fashioned "Hyttetur" (Cabin). After last week's competitions ,one of them must go back to the U.S. empty-handed. Among this week's challenges are "Hyttepakking" (packing the car), biathlon with Halvard Hanevold and accommodation with outhouse, which turns out to be a problem for Americans who are used to "inneliv" (stay indoors)
3. Episode 03
This week the Americans goes to one oil rig in the North sea to learn about Norwegian exports. They are however shocked when they find out what music genre we're big on in Norway.
4. Episode 04
The Americans has arrived to Oslo , They are equipped with maps and cameras, given the task of finding five different tourist attractions, indicated by cryptic clues. They must be getting in touch with locals so they don't end on the wrong track.
5. Episode 05
Sunnmøre, the remaining Norwegian-Americans live the Norwegian everyday - and working life. "Råning" - "showing of your weels" and grandiosa baking is on the list. In addition, participants stays with Norwegian families, and strong ties are linked to the host families. Worse is it when the losing team must keep in mind what is the common Bread Spread for the Norwegian "matpakke" - "lunch".
6. Episode 06
Eight Norwegian Americans remain in the competition to win a meeting with their Norwegian relatives. This week the Americans are heading to northern Norway, specifically the fishing village Kjerringøy , close to Bodø. Here they will learn about how the Norwegians live at the long, tough and harsh Norwegian coast.
7. Episode 07
It gets a little "Party-Swedish, go home!" When the Norwegian Americans meets Oslo's greatest labor force.
8. Episode 08
This week Americans get an insight into Norwegian holiday habits, and they shall camp in a typical Norwegian campsite. Dressed in a classic camping costume they must then compete over who makes the best "harry" shopping across the Swedish border. In addition, they compete this week on the ferry to Denmark.
9. Episode 09
Lillehammer is the scene where the Americans are fighting for a place in the finals, and the subject they are learning more about are the Norwegian heritage. The first day, there is no contest, but the Americans have to put themselves into several parts of Norwegian heritage. They must include rehearsing "Dovregubbens hall" on the recorder, and read Norwegian fairy tales.
10. Episode 10
It's the final, and the four remaining contestants will compete to meet their Norwegian relatives in "Alt for Norge". Now they must use everything they've learned about Norway to get through the finals three challenges, and both knowledge and rib fracture present a problem for some. Who gets to meet their Norwegian family?
