Their most recognizable player, the striker Neymar Jr., struggles under the weight of problems on and off the pitch, while a critical press and fanbase doubt the team has what it takes to win.

2. A Team That Plays Together, Prays Together

After losing Neymar Jr. to injury, questions are posed as to how the Brazilian National Team will cope without its talisman. Chelsea forward Willian is called up to fill the gap but an indifferent São Paulo crowd boos and disheartens the team in their unconvincing opening win against Bolivia. They then head north to Bahia, the country's spiritual heartland, to play against a scrappy Venezuela.

The team has finally found its identity and is now ready for victory on the biggest stage of all. However, Brazilian fans remain skeptical as to whether this group has what it takes to go all the way. With a squad full of weary bodies, Brazil heads to football's biggest temple, the Maracanã stadium in Rio de Janeiro, to face a reinvigorated Peru in the final. Can Tite's team finally win back the hearts of its fans with a title?
