Zendaya's HBO Series 'Euphoria' (Produced by Drake) Gets Creepy Mini Teaser
Although "Euphoria" by Zendaya sounds like a celebrity perfume, it's actually a new high school drama "coming soon" to HBO.
The cable network just gave "Euphoria" a 10-episode series order. Drake -- yes, that Drake -- is one of the executive producers, and both he and Zendaya Coleman shared a brief teaser on the news:
"Euphoria" is adapted from the 2012 Israeli series of the same name. Zendaya stars as Rue, "a lying, drug-addicted 17-year-old girl who tells a story of sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship."
Definitely sounds up HBO's alley. Also sounds like a very grown-up departure for the former Disney star turned "Dancing With the Stars" finalist, "Spider-Man" star, and "The Greatest Showman" singer.
The rest of the "Euphoria" cast includes Eric Dane, Storm Reid, Maude Apatow, Brian "Astro" Bradley, Angus Cloud, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney.
Sam Levinson ("Wizard of Lies") is writing all 10 episodes. The teaser promises "Euphoria" is "coming soon," but we don't know how soon -- and we are still waiting for an official trailer.
Meanwhile, Zendaya is also busy filming "Spider-Man: Far From Home" with the rest of the returning "Spider-Man: Homecoming" cast. We're expecting big things from her character Michelle/MJ.
