Yvette Nicole Brown is a regular guest on "Talking Dead," breaking out her notepad of "Walking Dead" questions and insightful comments during discussion with host Chris Hardwick and guests.

Now she'll be the one to move from the couch to Hardwick's chair -- at least temporarily.

AMC is still investigating whatever happened happened with Chris Hardwick and his ex-girlfriend Chloe Dykstra. She accused him of abuse and also said he blacklisted her in the industry after they broke up.

AMC pulled Hardwick's "Talking with Chris Hardwick" last month, as they began their investigation. Yvette Nicole Brown was asked to cover as "The Walking Dead" and "Fear the Walking Dead" moderator during San Diego Comic-Con.

It wasn't clear what would happen to the popular "Talking Dead" after-show, but AMC cleared that up with this statement:

"Yvette Nicole Brown will step in as an interim guest host of ‘The Walking Dead Season 9 Preview Special’ on August 5 and ‘Talking Dead’ when it returns following the premiere of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ on August 12, as we work to complete our assessment related to Chris Hardwick."

So they're not officially giving her the job, they're still trying to dig into what happened and what to do about it.

It'll be interesting to see how Yvette handles it -- address the elephant in the room, or just go straight into talking shop?

So far, it's clear she's fielding a lot of hate from fans who feel she's being disloyal to Chris Hardwick. Without knowing anything about what happened, many TWD fans seem to be siding with Chris -- calling him the victim -- and blaming Yvette for taking his spot, even temporarily.

One of the things AMC must be investigating is whether Hardwick abused his authority to block Dykstra from getting work. As she had written in her blog post:

"Because of my leaving him for someone else, he made calls to several companies I received regular work from to get me fired by threatening to never work with them. He succeeded. I was blacklisted. With the assistance of a woman who'd gained my trust and my heart over the past year, he steamrolled my career."

The "Walking Dead" and "Fear" Comic-Con panels are scheduled for this Friday, July 20 in Hall H. Yvette is unlikely to be the biggest topic of conversation, since Andrew Lincoln will be there, probably dodging rumors about his Season 9 departure.
