'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' to Introduce Dazzler — Is Taylor Swift Playing Her?
Will Taylor Swift dazzle us all in "X-Men: Dark Phoenix"?
The character of Dazzler will appear in the next "X-Men" movie, according to Entertainment Weekly. The mutant pop star can convert sound into light and energy beams, and her existence was teased by Sophie Turner while promoting "X-Men: Apocalypse."
Turner, who plays Jean Grey (who will turn into the Dark Phoenix in the upcoming film), posted an image from a deleted scene that depicts Dazzler's latest album:
#FBF that time Cyclops and I went shopping at the mall and found our favorite singer's album (pre 1989, of course) pic.twitter.com/BherKQbE4Z

Note the reference to Swift's album "1989." Around the same time, "Apocalypse" writer (and "Dark Phoenix director) Simon Kinberg posted an image of himself, Turner, and James McAvoy with Swift at one of her concerts.
So, naturally, speculation arose that Swift might make a cameo as Dazzler. But EW says the role is a small one and that there is no plan to cast the singer.
Guess we'll just have to shake it off.
