Woody Harrelson Swears In as 'LBJ' in New Trailer
Many lives changed on November 22, 1963 — one of the most profoundly impacted was Lyndon B. Johnson, then vice president of the United States.
Woody Harrelson transforms the titular figure of "LBJ" in a new trailer for Rob Reiner's biopic. Johnson became the 36th President of the United States after the tragic assassination of John F. Kennedy. He is suddenly thrust into the role after being sidelined as VP, then faces crises from all angles, including the Vietnam War and fierce opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
By his side is supportive wife Lady Bird Johnson (Jennifer Jason Leigh). But Johnson also must contend with a wary public, an adversarial relationship with Attorney General Bobby Kennedy (Michael Stahl-David), and friend-turned-foe Sen. Richard Russell (Richard Jenkins).
Harrelson looks near-unrecognizable, with prosthetics and makeup aiding his transformation into Johnson.
"LBJ" opens in theaters November 3.
