William Shatner to Receive 2015 Voice Arts Icon Award
William Shatner's career has lived long and prospered. And the veteran actor, who has won Emmy and Golden Globes accolades, will add another honor to his mantle--this time for his work behind the mic, not in front of the camera.
Shatner will receive the Voice Arts Icon Award at the second annual Voice Arts Awards Gala in Los Angeles at a ceremony on Nov. 15. Ever the professional, Shatner released an apt statement regarding the recognition. "In voiceover work," he says, "the fewer the words, the better the message. I am honored by this award."
The 84-year-old's distinctive voice has been used in his role as a pitchman for several products over the years, in addition to his widely popular readings of books and song lyrics.
The Voice Arts Awards celebrates professional voiceover acting, creative direction and casting for advertising, audiobook narration, movie trailers, video gaming, animation, television and radio.
Last year James Earl Jones was the recipient of the Voice Arts Icon Award.
