Luke, this is your father, where the heck are you?

The new poster for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" features old favorites Han Solo, Princess Leia, R2D2, and C-3PO, and a bunch of new characters, including Daisy Riley as Rey front and center -- but no Luke Skywalker.

The Internet is buzzing with fans wondering -- hoping -- the new trailer Monday night will address the mystery of the missing Luke. Even Twentieth Century Fox, which used to distribute the "Star Wars" films, got into the act, tweeting a photo of a forlorn Luke next to a concerned Leia over the message: "Ever get that left out feeling?" Hashtag: WhereisLuke.

He's not in any of the other teaser clips previously released, all the more puzzling since it's already been announced that Mark Hamill will reprise the Luke role. Some fans are speculating that his absence from the poster is itself a major plot clue: that Luke is off in some galaxy even farther away and must be found.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens Dec. 18. in the U.S., a day earlier in the U.K.

Stay tuned.
