'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' Gets the Boot After 20 Years
Is that your final answer? Yes, after 20 years, "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" has been canceled.
The show was a monster ratings hit when it first premiered on ABC primetime in 1999 with Regis Philbin as host.
It shifted to syndication in 2002, when Meredith Vieira took over as host until 2013.
Since then, the game show been emceed by Cedric the Entertainer Terry Crews, and is currently hosted by Chris Harrison.
Harrison also hosts ABC's "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette," a franchise that shows no sign of going off the air any time soon.
"Millionaire" racked up more than 3,000 episodes, including more than 300 while it was on ABC.
Everyone from "SNL" (who sent up Steve Harvey's temp hosting skills) and "The Simpsons" has done "Millionaire"-inspired skits.
