Rey Still Missing From 'Star Wars' Monopoly Game Due to 'Insufficient Interest'
#WheresRey? Still not in the "Star Wars" Monopoly board game.
Last year, a young fan sparked an outcry when she couldn't find Rey, her favorite character from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," in the 2015 edition of the game. Hasbro promised to include Rey in its next release of the game, but that still hasn't happened.
The 2015 edition included four male character tokens: Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, and Finn.
A Hasbro spokesperson noted that a Rey token was created and included in editions sold in other countries. But it was not sold in the U.S. " due to insufficient interest" from retailers. Fans who really want the piece can call Hasbro to request it.
Yet, Rey is arguably the main character of "The Force Awakens" (though you could argue Finn is a co-lead). "Insufficient interest" seems like a cop-out, hardly any better than the company's initial excuse of avoiding spoilers.
Fans took to Twitter to revive the #WheresRey question:
Hey @Hasbro, my daughters and I have sufficient interest! #WheresReyhttps://t.co/yYEeSRkAzR
