What Movies Are Out: Resident Evil - Final Chapter, Gold

Go to the extremes at the weekend box office with two movies that push boundaries and offer surprises, and this week's Made in Hollywood episode has all the behind-the-screen details and interviews with the stars.

For Milla Jovovich, returning for the sixth and perhaps last time as butt-kicking, fast-shooting, motorcycle-riding Alice in "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" meant ending a movie journey by providing some answers.

"We're bringing everything to a close," she tells Made in Hollywood reporter Kylie Erica Mar. "Now we really get a chance to understand who Alice was."

"This one has a lot of big narrative reveals," says director-writer -- and Jovovich's husband -- Paul W.S. Anderson. "It brings all these secrets to light and I think it'll blow people's minds."

Adds costar Ali Larter: "This is Paul and Milla's movie. It's part of his mind. And when I come onto the set I'm part of something that helps him create his vision."

Look for moviegoers' minds to be blown another way when they get one look at Matthew McConaughey, who packed on the pounds and developed a serious case of male pattern baldness as hustler Kenny Wells in the rags-to-riches tale "Gold."

"I didn’t plan on putting on a bunch of weight," McConaughey tells reporter Damaris Diaz. "I just started living like Kenny and all of a sudden looked up in the mirror and I was getting kind of big. I was like: Well, this is the guy. And so down that road we went.”

Playing the girlfriend of a man with so many rough edges had Bryce Dallas Howard looking for his hidden good side.

"I think the character of Kenny Wells is wild and says the wrong things," she says, "and yet he's got so much heart and he has a lot of integrity."

Now in its 12th season and airing every week in syndication across the United States, Made in Hollywood takes you to the set with directors, writers and producers, gives you an inside look at what’s new in theaters and on the home screen, and shows how special effects and tech wizards pull off their complex magic to bring the biggest blockbusters to life. Made In Hollywood is produced and distributed by Connection III Entertainment Corp.
