There's the obvious meaning, then several layers of hidden meaning, to the "Game of Thrones" Season 7 finale title.

HBO just revealed the Episode 7 title themselves -- sending out a super-brief press release -- along with the exact running time:

The final episode of GAMES OF THRONES' current season is titled "The Dragon and the Wolf," and debuts this SUNDAY, AUG. 27 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on HBO. The total running time is 79 minutes, 43 seconds.

It was already revealed that the finale would be the longest-ever episode at 80 minutes, but HBO wants you to know it down to the second.

But that title. "The Dragon and the Wolf." You're thinking Daenerys Targaryen and Jon Snow. You're right. But think bigger. Jon is the Dragon and the Wolf, child of Dragon Rhaegar Targaryen and Wolf Lyanna Stark. He's half-Wolf, and half-Dragon, as Drogon could tell you by now.

And maybe someone else is about to tell us, or even show us?

*POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD*

We've been expecting Rhaegar Targaryen to make a flashback appearance in Season 7, and this would be the only time left. Perhaps this title is more about R+L than anyone? Perhaps it's time for us to get a glimpse of the love story of The Dragon and the Wolf, even as we see their son falling in love with a Dragon himself. Maybe Bran Stark is about to have another vision. Maybe Sam is going to somehow catch up to what Gilly said back at the Citadel about Rhaegar annulling his marriage to Elia Martell and marrying Lyanna.

There's also still another level to consider. The wolf in sheep's clothing. Cersei Lannister? Does anyone really think she's going into that White Walker meeting with an open mind?

Also, don't forget that the tantalizing quote from the second GoT Season 7 trailer has yet to be spoken -- Sansa Stark saying, "When the snows fall, and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives."

This is the only episode left for that particular quote to be spoken, and it's not exactly a great time for it, since Sansa and Arya are in a tense standoff at Winterfell, thanks to the chaos of Littlefinger.

So instead of just seeing "The Dragon and the Wolf" as about Dany + Jon, we have to expect Rhaegar + Lyanna to get involved in the Season 7 finale, and also learn the context of Sansa's mysterious (although book-rooted) trailer quote. And, of course, there's still the grief from Dany losing one of her children, a literal dragon. On that chilling note, what if the title follows that dark direction, and the loss of a dragon is followed by a loss of one of the only direwolves left? Please no!

The GoT Season 7 finale airs Sunday, Aug. 27 at 9 p.m. on HBO. Pre-production has already started on the final Season 8, whose six episodes start filming in October, for a premiere whenever HBO feels like scheduling it.
