Timothée Chalamet Will Star as King Henry V For Netflix
Timothée Chalamet, the Oscar-nominated star of "Call Me By Your Name" (and the jerky boyfriend of "Lady Bird"), has lined up his next project.
TheWrap reports that the 22-year-old will star as King Henry V in an upcoming Netflix movie.
The film will follow the young Henry V, who takes over the throne after his brother is killed in battle, just as England is on the brink of war with France.
We're most interested, though, in what Wikipedia labels the future king's "Supposed Riotous Youth." That reputation is based mostly on Shakespeare's depiction of him as the wild "Prince Harry," which, by the way, inspired the Keanu Reeves hustler character in Gus Van Sant's "My Own Private Idaho."
David Michôd ("War Machine") is set to direct, from a script he cowrote with his "Animal Kingdom" star Joel Edgerton. Production is scheduled to begin in June.
Henry V has previously been played by Kenneth Branagh and Laurence Olivier (in their self-directed films of 1989 and 1944, respectively).
