Timothée Chalamet Is 'The King' in Teaser Trailer for Netflix Historical Biopic
All hail "The King," Timothée Chalamet.
Netflix dropped the teaser trailer for the upcoming historical biopic starring the "Call Me By Your Name" actor as Henry V.
The film is an adaptation of William Shakepeare's plays "Henry IV, Part 1,” “Henry IV, Part 2, and “Henry V.”
Chalamet starts off the movie as the wayward Hal, heir to the English throne who is crowned King Henry V after the death of his father. Once on the throne, the young ruler must navigate political turmoil and a war his father left behind.
He's aided and supported by the alcoholic knight, John Falstaff (Joel Edgerton) and Louis, French Duke of Guyenne (Robert Pattinson).
The film comes from director David Michôd ("War Machine"), who co-wrote the script with Edgerton. This marks their third collaboration after "Animal Kingdom" (which Edgerton starred in) and "The Rover" (which Edgerton co-wrote).
“The King” is set for a world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in a non-competition category. It will then open in select theaters this fall and later stream on Netflix.
