The first clip from Season 2 of "This Is Us" is — surprise, surprise — a real tearjerker.

NBC released the clip from its breakout hit drama, which returns Sept. 26. In the clip, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) tells mother Rebecca (Mandy Moore) that his plans to adopt another child have hit a snag. It seems wife Beth is a bit hesitant.

When he asks Rebecca how she and Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) decided to adopt him, she thinks back to that fateful day three decades ago.

"I said no," she confesses, as we see a flashback to Jack and Rebecca standing outside the nursery ward. "But your father was so sure. I was tired and I was grieving, and he just kept pushing me.

Rebecca goes on to explain that while her marriage wasn't perfect, and Jack wasn't perfect (nearly, but not totally), sometimes one partner has to push the other. And in the best-case scenario, like the adoption of Randall, it works out.
