"This Is Us" Season 1 is now down to 10 Emmy nominations, after the Television Academy revoked one of the NBC show's nods.

According to Deadline, costume designer Hala Bahmet, assistant costume designer Marina Ray, and costume supervisor Elinor Bardach were nominated in the Outstanding Contemporary Costumes for a Series, Limited Series or Movie category for the Season 1 finale, "Moonshadow." But apparently the costumes weren't quite "Contemporary" enough.

Here's what a TV Academy spokesperson released in a statement:

"Having reviewed the 'Moonshadow' episode of 'This Is Us,' the awards committee noted that the entrant unfortunately miscalculated the proportion of scenes that were period versus contemporary. In fact, the episode is predominately period. The entry (and subsequent nomination) are thereby disqualified. The sixth-place vote-getter — now the fifth nomination — will be identified by the accountants and will be revealed when the Television Academy's final round viewing platform opens on Monday."

That has to be frustrating for "This Is Us" and the costume team. The nominees in that category are now "Big Little Lies," "Empire," "Grace and Frankie," "House of Cards," and "Transparent." It sounds like "House of Cards" might've been the newest addition

"This Is Us" is still nominated for Outstanding Drama Series, two stars for Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, three stars for Guest Actor, Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic), and Casting for a Drama Series.

The 69th Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sunday, September 17, in a live broadcast hosted by Stephen Colbert on CBS. "This Is Us" Season 2 premieres September 26 on NBC.
