'The Walking Dead' Season 8B Will Show 'First Fully Nude Walker'
Full frontal or it didn't happen.
"The Walking Dead" Season 8 is returning next week after a ... well ... let's just call it a grumpy hiatus. The Carl Grimes storyline does not have many fans, but we know his death is going to dominate the midseason premiere. The AMC show also has to figure out how to wrap up the Rick vs. Negan All Out War in the next eight episodes, since the (outgoing) showrunner promised it will be "resolved by the end of Season 8."
But this is still a show about zombies/walkers. One of them bit Carl in the first half of Season 8, and another will apparently be baring all.
Greg Nicotero directed the Season 8 return episode -- Episode 9, "Honor" -- and he's also the special effects guru in charge of coming up with cool new walkers. Nicotero told Entertainment Weekly, at some point in the second half, "There's an episode where we did our first fully nude walker. We've never done that before."
We'll probably only see him/her from the backside, since this is AMC not HBO. But you have to wonder how he/she ended up naked -- attacked and bitten while sleeping or showering? Imagine how undignified an eternity that would be -- wandering the earth naked and hangry for human flesh.
Read more from Nicotero in his EW Q&A, including a tease about some "polarizing" decisions ahead for Maggie.
"The Walking Dead" returns Sunday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
