'The Good Doctor' Loses Another Series Regular for Season 2
Freddie Highmore's new hit series "The Good Doctor" will see some staffing changes in Season 2.
You probably saw the Season 2 trailer, previewing this Monday's September 24 premiere.
TVLine just updated with the news that Beau Garrett will not be returning to her Season 1 series regular role as Jessica Preston.
Preston was the hospital in-house attorney; vice president of Risk Management; granddaughter of the hospital founder; friend of Dr. Glassman (Richard Schiff); and -- for most of Season 1 -- in a relationship with Dr. Neil Melendez (Nicholas Gonzalez).
But now she's out, following Chuku Modu, whose exit as Dr. Jared Kalu was previously announced.
Season 2 will add some new faces to the mix, including "House" alum Lisa Edelstein returning to the medical world as Dr. Blaize, "an expert oncologist who returns to San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital to lead Glassman’s cancer treatment." You can spot her in the Season 2 trailer.
Several Season 1 characters also got series regular promotions for Season 2, including Fiona Gubelmann (Dr. Morgan Reznick), Will Yun Lee (Dr. Alex Park), Christina Chang (Dr. Audrey Lim), and Paige Spara (Lea).
"The Good Doctor" Season 2 premieres this Monday, Sept. 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
