The First Trailer for 'It' Is Here and It's Terrifying
The first trailer for the new version of Stephen King's "It" is here and we are officially freaked out. The first glimpse of Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgård) makes our blood run cold. And that floating red balloon? Mommy!
The 1987 miniseries, starring Tim Curry as the child-snatching villain, still haunts us, but this new big-screen version looks even more horrifying.
Like the original novel (which was published in 1986), the film is set in the '80s. Among the kids trying to take down Pennywise are Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben Hanscom, Finn Wolfhard (Mike on "Stranger Things") as Richie Tozier, and Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, the only girl in the "Loser's Club."
The scene where a slide projector goes berserk (revealing Pennywise in a photo) is just one of the creepier moments in the trailer. And then there's little Georgie yelling, "YOU'LL FLOAT TOO."
"It" opens September 8, macabrely wedged between back-to-school and Halloween.
