"Veep," and the other brilliant satires "The Thick of It." He's a genius. This movie, following the Soviet struggle for power after Stalin dies in 1953, came out in the U.K. last year and earned rave reviews.

The black comedy stars Steve Buscemi, Jason Isaacs, Jeffrey Tambor, Monty Python legend Michael Palin, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, Paddy Considine, and Rupert Friend.

Friend plays Stalin's son, Vasily Stalin, and fans who know him best from "Homeland" may be surprised by how much his serious comedic chops dominate the new star-studded trailer:Here's the official synopsis from IFC Films:

"The one-liners fly as fast as political fortunes fall in this uproarious, wickedly irreverent satire from Armando Iannucci (Veep, In the Loop). Moscow, 1953: when tyrannical dictator Joseph Stalin drops dead, his parasitic cronies square off in a frantic power struggle to be the next Soviet leader. Among the contenders are the dweeby Georgy Malenkov (Jeffrey Tambor), the wily Nikita Khrushchev (Steve Buscemi), and the sadistic secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria (Simon Russell Beale).
