The 'Big Little Lies' Cast Is Back in New Season 2 Set Photos
Though HBO limited series "Big Little Lies" has been off the air for almost a year, the stars of the show have been seemingly everywhere lately, popping up at just about every awards show over the past few months to collect a boatload of statuettes for the acclaimed drama. Now, the stars are reuniting again, but this time, they're finally getting back to work: Filming has officially begun on "BLL" season two.
Stars Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern -- who play Madeline and Renata, respectively -- revealed the big news on social media this week, posting matching photos featuring their characters hanging out at the Seaside Coffee Shop in Monterey, California. Fans will remember that spot from several crucial scenes in season one of the series, where the core cast frequently gathered.
Dern also shared a gorgeous snap of a sunset along the coast, captioning the shot, "I get to go to work to this?!" We're already imagining the dramatic conversations set to take place under those purple clouds.
Also back in action were Zoe Kravitz (Bonnie) and Shailene Woodley (Jane), who shared Instagram images of them donning their characters' signature locks as they prepared to start shooting again.
There have been no sightings yet of Nicole Kidman (who plays Celeste), or new castmate Meryl Streep (who's playing -- SPOILER ALERT -- the mother of Alexander Skarsgaard's now-deceased Perry). It goes without saying that Streep's addition to the ensemble is huge news, and we can't wait to see how she fits in (or rather, stirs things up) with the rest of the gang.
"Big Little Lies" season two is expected to debut sometime in 2019.
