"The Big Bang Theory" may not burn out in Season 12.

In 2017, the CBS show was renewed for two more seasons, with the main cast signing contracts through Season 12, which starts in September. There were heavy hints that Season 12 would be The End.

But over the weekend, CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl said they were in "preliminary discussions" for a Season 13 renewal. That doesn't mean it's definitely going to happen, but the network wants it to happen. Can you even imagine how much the cast members could make by the end of this?

During that two-season renewal in 2017, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar signed new contracts extending past Season 10; the big five reportedly agreed to small pay cuts from their $1 million-an-episode salaries so Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch could get more pay.

Now they appear to be in a position to re-negotiate for a final season, or even multiple seasons.

Bill Prady is one of the co-creators of "The Big Bang Theory," and remains an executive producer. Fans noticed he had some interesting reactions to the news reports coming out about a potential renewal. He also shared a bit more on how the sausage is made behind-the-scenes:

Prady explained that he remains executive producer and co-creator, but Steve Holland is the current showrunner leading a team of writers "often 7 days a week" to create each episode of "The Big Bang Theory."
