New 'The Bachelor' Spoilers Claim Arie Pulls a Mesnick After Finale
Yikes. Arie Luyendyk Jr. did say he fell in love with two women. Guess he wanted both.
"The Bachelor" Season 22 has not been very exciting, but this new spoiler sure stirs things up. Reality Steve already spoiled who Arie picks in the finale, based on his sources, saying it comes down to ...
SPOILER ALERT
... Becca Kufrin and Lauren Burnham as the final two.
Steve said Arie picks Becca in the end and they get engaged. Both Arie and Becca K. even shared photos from what looked like a secret hideaway confirming they were together.
However!
The new spoiler was previewed, in a way, by Arie himself. Arie had said he fell in love with two women during the season. Other stars have said that before, but they usually just pick one anyway and say he/she was always The One and they are happy together, etc.
Not this time, apparently. Here's the new scoop from Steve:
"Arie ended his engagement with Becca a little over a week ago and is now dating Lauren. That's why he was in Virginia last week at Lauren's parents house."
Read more details on his site. He just couldn't resist picking one of the Laurens.
So Arie pulled a Jason Mesnick? Pulling a Mesnick can sometimes mean sobbing as you cling to a balcony, but in the bigger picture of Bachelor Nation history it means ditching your Chosen One in favor of the runner-up. Jason did that back in "The Bachelor" Season 13 in 2009, and it was actually the start of Reality Steve's spoilers. He had spoiled that Jason would do that, but it was hard to believe, since no one had ever dumped their fiancee on the "After the Final Rose" special, only to ask out the runner-up.Jason and his runner-up, Molly, ended up staying together, getting married, and starting a family. They are now beloved members of the Bachelor Nation family. Fans have forgiven, if not forgotten, what Jason did.
It doesn't look like Arie plans to dump Becca on live TV, since they apparently already ended the engagement. But if ABC producers were at Lauren B.'s house when Arie showed up, it looks like we as viewers will be shown that awkward love triangle play out.
So the finale and "After the Final Rose" special this year should show us who Arie picked (Becca, supposedly), what went wrong, and what he did next with Lauren. It's going to be weird. But at least it's good drama, which is more than the season has had so far:
It's days like this where it makes absolutely zero sense for ABC to complain about what I do. I just took a needle of adrenaline to their worst rated season in years. Now EVERYONE will be tuning in for their finale to see this shit show play out. You're welcome.
