Linda Hamilton Shares How 'Terminator: Dark Fate' Differs From Last 3 Films
The return of Linda Hamilton has helped shake up the Terminator franchise. While promoting "Terminator: Dark Fate" at CinemaCon on Thursday, the actress talked about how the upcoming sixth film differs from the most recent films, not hesitating to call the last three "very forgettable."
Speaking to Variety, Hamilton identified some of the problems she had with the most recent movies: "Too many people, too many story points." She indicated that "Dark Fate" course corrects and is more similar to the first films, "The Terminator" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day," both of which she starred in as the badass Sarah Connor.
"I think we've done a good job of narrowing down the focus again so it will echo the first two films," Hamilton said.
The idea for the film came from series co-creator James Cameron as well as "Dark Fate" director Tim Miller. In addition to bringing back Hamilton, they got the original Terminator himself, Arnold Schwarzenegger, on board. The stars are joined by new cast members Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.
However the new movie has turned out, this could very well be Hamilton's last go round in the franchise. She told Variety that she's "going to fake [her] own death" to avoid a sequel, so let's hope it's one to remember.
