'Superior Donuts' Star Jermaine Fowler Joins 'Coming 2 America'
Jermaine Fowler has joined Eddie Murphy in "Coming 2 America," the sequel to the 1988 hit comedy, "Coming to America."
"Hustle & Flow" helmer Craig Brewer will direct with an eye towards an August 7, 2020 release.
We don't yet know the plot or Fowler's role, but we imagine it will involve someone (probably from the fictional African nation of Zamunda) coming to America at some point.
Fowler currently stars as Franco Wicks on the CBS sitcom "Superior Donuts" with Judd Hirsch and Katey Sagal.
His other credits include the Boots Riley film "Sorry to Bother You” and the HBO comedy series "Crashing."
He’s currently developing and executive producing a television series with Larry Wilmore and Quinta Bronson for CBS, and is in development on an original story, titled "The Come Up" at New Line.
