Steve Carell to Star in 'Space Force' Workplace Comedy From 'Office' Creator Greg Daniels
It's an "Office" reunion!
Steve Carell is starring in a workplace comedy titled "Space Force" that he co-created with his "Office" boss Greg Daniels for Netflix. It will follow the people tasked with creating a sixth branch of the armed services — Space Force. The idea was inspired by President Donald Trump's order last June to establish the initiative.
Netflix released a brief teaser for the series:
There's been a lot of chatter in the last few years about potentially rebooting "The Office," though Carell has steadily denied being interested in it.
The actor has been very busy with his film career; just this past year, he appeared in "Welcome to Marwen," "Beautiful Boy," and "Vice." He's also playing the male lead in Apple's upcoming morning talk show drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Carell's salary (including his co-creator and executive producer fees) will set a new overall talent record.
