These 'Star Wars' GIFs Show How 5 Main Characters Aged Through Saga
It's hard to say which "Star Wars" character has changed the most over the course of the Saga to date, but it's safe to say it's not C-3PO.
We first met the "Star Wars" cast a long time ago (1977-1983) in a galaxy far, far away (Episodes IV-VI). But it's now canon to consider the prequels -- the 1999-2005 Episodes I-III -- as the chronological beginning of the Saga, which is now continuing with the sequels -- 2015-2019 Episodes VII-IX.
The Star Wars galaxy is always transporting fans through time, and on December 16, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is taking us to the gap between Episode III and Episode IV, to show how Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and allies stole the plans for the Death Star that our OG heroes had to destroy in the original trilogy. In honor of "Rogue One" -- and its focus on hacking intel about the Death Star -- the Internet security and hacking news site securethoughts.com created these GIFs showing five main "Star Wars" characters morphing through time:
Luke Skywalker, played by Mark Hamill from Episode IV, "A New Hope," through last year's Episode VII, "The Force Awakens."Obi-Wan Kenobi, played by Ewan McGregor in the three prequels, then Alec Guinness in "Star Wars":Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, played by Jake Lloyd in Episode I, "The Phantom Menace"; then Hayden Christensen in Episode II, "Attack of the Clones" and Episode III, "Revenge of the Sith"; followed by David Prowse in "Return of the Jedi":Princess/General Leia, played by Carrie Fisher in Episodes IV-VII:Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford in Episodes IV-VII:Luke and Leia are expected to return in Episode VIII, which is scheduled for release on December 15, 2017. Han Solo is getting his own "Rogue One"-style standalone film, with Alden Ehrenreich playing the younger version. So maybe someday the Han GIF can be updated for him, placing the younger version first. There's also talk of Obi-Wan returning for the next two Saga films, and potentially getting his own solo film, so his transformation may need a lot of updating in the next few years.
